[FIXED] Headhunter no longer gives the player buffs when SRS kill enemies

Not really a HH user myself, but I've been following this thread and want to let you know, that the change's been reverted.

Patch notes
I'm not a native English speaker. Should you spot a mistake in my post, feel free to point it out. Thanks!

THANK YOU BOYS WE DID IT
Despite it directly contradicting game mechanics which they fixed it up to(in your case broke it) they reverted the change.

The reason it took so long btw was that they were debating it, they know that unintentional or not that the change fixed the interaction and it was now in line with the monster/kill mechanics already in the game, they didn't answer here because they were serious doubts that it would be reverted back to it's broken state

think what you want but contrary to what you said (and even if you like it or not) HH was broken and now its fix, just read the patch note to see that it was not intentional ,

and we're all very happy.

I couldn't agree more. Having monster auras with SRS and even just normal summons was incredibly fun. No reason for GGG to remove this interaction.

No reason to remove it? Other than it going against all other such effects in the game? I may be misreading something here, and I don't own a Headhunter myself, but the text clearly says "When you Kill a Rare monster", doesn't it?
And you never kill anything if you're SRS, any kind summoner, trapper, totemer and so on. Those builds don't get charges, on kill effects from heralds, corrupting blood etc. Why should this be a special case?

The truth is that your theory is ridiculous.

YEAH!!! we're all very happy!!!
This fix is great.
It's very simple.
The minion gets the kill it gets the buff NOT the player, what head hunter dose is bypass that and THEY fixed it...then later reverted it to its broken state.

You might as well just give the player charges based on minion kills or how about or cast on death...it should not be working at all the way it is now.

I messaged them before they "fixed" it and Henry gave me this reply

"
Essentially, someone changed something and the interaction broke.
Problem is, technically it's fixed... But, since it use to be "broken" and people built around this, we're still deciding whether or not it should be reverted or left as is.

Would not be surprised to see a proper fix to this at some point in the future

GGG made it clear that Minion cannot use trigger gems and minions can gain charges.
Not working is understandable. With the mechanism of HH is not the same
before they fix it
three videos Proof that headhunter sometimes give the Summoner buff sometimes do not give the buff when Minions kill enemies.
Isn't that a state of BROKEN?
So,“Players once again gain the Mods of indirectly killed rare monsters while using the Headhunter” is desirable

Sigh... child, it's not my theory, it is stated by GGG themselves. I can show you the exact same videos with charges and totems, minions or whatever else kind of nonplayer killing entity, it always works the same with DoTs. All direct damage attributes kills to whatever did the damage, DoTs don't, they always attributes to the player. Somehow they managed to fix this for HH, but reverted the fix.

They reverted HH back to broken state due excessive whining and that's OK, as Jilvane said it doesn't affect temp leagues much...
But arguing that it's working as intended when it's contradictory to every single other similar effect just shows a complete lack of game mechanics understanding (of course HH is not alone in getting DoT kills for the player, but Dots are broken).

Just try a southbound, assassin's mark or warlords mark and any totem/trap poison setup and see for yourself. Every kill will be from poison DoT and the player will get tons of charges.

I remember you said that"This is an almost ancient bug: When an enemy dies from DoT damage (and after the source of the damage is gone according to GGG_Mark)"
You this theory has been proved to be absurd
before they fix HH,I personally did the experiment.HH did not give the player buff when fire totem's burning dmg kill rare monsters
So your theory can only be understood as a misleading
Fix HH because of unintentional changes Not because of complaints
I'm too lazy to test your new theory
it has nothing to do with the summoner
And I'm afraid you have a lot of new theories
The point is they fixed it
we're all happy!
