" Oh please, you know how smug libs were when polls (kek) told everyone how Hillary would win in a landslide. They 100% deserve this. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

"In, say, a letter personally addressed to Hillary Clinton, I'd agree with you. However, my feeling towards the bulk of the Clinton supporters is: they've been brainwashed. Following the 2013 repeal of the ban of propaganda against the American people, the stage was set for things like Podesta polling and campaign editorial privileges to be merely outrageous instead of blatantly illegal. Combined with the echo chamber and Skinner Box design of social media like Facebook and Twitter, this combination of delivery and reinforcement mechanisms poisoned the minds of millions. Worse yet: it doesn't seem like the strategy will be abandoned anytime soon. Twitter has doubled down on internal censorship, and Obama is advocating soft censorship of the Internet at large. Recently, I saw a t-shirt advertised with an electoral map with a legend that labels red as The United States of America and blue as "Dumbfuckistan." If instead blue was labeled as "Zombieland," I'd agree with it. (Much like the fictional zombie outbreaks, it's overtaken our urban areas first.) However, unlike a Romero flick, this disease has a cure. SkyCore is unfortunately right on this one (except for that "legitimacy" part). Getting your thrills off of the naivete of those victimized by a weaponized media industry is immature and sadistic. You should be handing out red pills, not browbeating people for trusting an American institution which is supposed to be trustworthy. " A large portion of the reaction is due to the over reaction by those who lost. Not a slight over reaction, but an end of the world over reaction. People are acting not just as if Trump personally and intentionally ran over their dog, but as if he dug up the dog after burial and ran it over again and filmed it and broadcast the video. The media is of course fueling it, but there's something about their entire mindset that is fundamentally non-functional. If Hillary had doused their hand with gasoline and set in on fire, and Trump offered to put the fire out, they would rather burn to death than accept it. Many are that far gone, but not all of them are. Whether most are is tough to judge. We may be looking at the mental flabbiness equivalence of the obesity epidemic. Not sure of that yet, but if this keeps up and they stay the course, then we will know. Redpilling someone who is triggered by the mere sight of red is tough. Purple Pilling them might work in some cases, but for many, when they distrust one source of their Blue Dreamers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EZlXDZKHg0 they merely turn to another and double up on the dosage. Read a bit from this thread to see what the fear-mongering media has done to some people. Tremendous damage.

" Sodium Chloride World there. Trump's been on a personal campaign to see who if he can present a more friendly side to the skeptical public - and possibly because of Twitter's censorship move - He's trying out things like Snapchat and Omegle.

" Ok, well some fair points but theres maybe something that will be news to you in the wiki leaks sphere regarding Hillary. The outrage is not Hillary lying about emails, its not about her using private email servers, I mean those things have their own little arena which Im taking no sides in tbh, very much like your take seems to be on them my general feeling is "whatever". Heres what I think you should know though, regarding keeping your country safe. the biggest scandal is what is IN those emails, not that they exist or how they got leaked or what Hillary did or didnt lie about etc. Those emails when added to open facts of Hillary Clintons dealings amount to this: Clinton knows that the Saudi Arabian government are funding ISIS at the same point in time she is making the largest arms sales in the history of arms sales to the Suadi Arabian government, and they in turn are not only funding Isis but are also funding her election campaign and bribing her by funding her foundation. ~So int erms of keeping your country safe, how do you feel about Islamic terrorism? How do you feel about arming the governments that are in turn arming the Islamic terrorists? Most of the 9/11 hijeckers were Saudis, Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi and the government there is, according to Hillary clintons private emails, funding Isis. The same bunch taking responsibility for the massacres in France and want nothing less than the total destruction of your country and your entire way of life. These are the people Hillary is in bed with, is using your government to sell extreme weaponry to. Its a bigger deal than her using a private server, her lying about technical stuff, about trump not posting his tax returns, theres WAY bigger stuff going on in those emails. " I agree with the guy you quoted right up until the last part. Ive seen things like it before, Ive seen the public in Europe and America act this way for as long as I can recall watching them sadly. Election promises, wars, all manner of trivial events that come and go. We are lied to all the time, we take it on face value and when it turns out to be false it doesnt seem to matter, nothing changes because we are on to swallowing the next lie already. In a lot of ways i dont think trump is a new low, hes just more open, the trump phenomenon is exposing what was already there but easily undetected. " its interesting wording, the understanding of the faith. The idea I think Christians have, and I hope Im not misrepresenting them here, is that there is something to understand. That the Christian God and faith is something real outside of what people have made up in their heads the way we accept Tolkien's middle earth is something we just made up, a fantasy. If this is the case then the only connection modern Christians have to that God, the teaching, the faith, is the Bible. Thats the only part that exists now outside of what you are making up in your heads, and yet you turn from it, reject it and call that a change in the understanding of this thing which your only actual link to is that which you reject. Is the change the understanding that the bible was essentially just the words of people, people who lived in a fairly primitive culture and hence should not really be taken as gospel by people living so much further on in a much more educated and logical culture? Because that is the take of the atheist, and the history of Christianity is basically that, it starts with simply a book and then bit by bit the idea that the book should be taken seriously is chipped away at and discarded until all that is left is what the believers have made up in their own head. The tag Christianity, the idea of a God and faith simply relegated to a strange way to shed responsibility for an entirely internal mental process or the need to evaluate it. Personally i find it sad that people cant take responsibility for their own moral agenda and keep this tag of Christianity, which brings with it this book and a view that this book should be held in regard. A book containing quotes like the one I posted before, a quote that if coming from a political parties manifesto would break hate speech laws, inciting violence, murder, a quote that society would completely reject both morally and legally, refuse to tolerate. Instead it form part of a text that is considered to be sacred, is protected by many laws, protected by the moral framework of society and like racism, sexism and all manner of disgusting mental illness will be handed down, as you have pointed out, to generation after generation. Put in to children's minds at such an early age that there will be no way to remove it, no argument that can sway it, and will infect those children with a fundamentally flawed mental function that does not make logical sense for their entire lives. As long as it exists the book will exist, and with the book comes homophobia, sexism, all manner of disgusting things and society will keep having these issues. You cant build a tolerant society by tolerating the intolerant, and this is a fundamental stumbling block for the liberal dream in a society as sick with religion as Americas imo. You are always going to get a Trump coming back around who allows people to follow their faith all the way to the hate the gays train. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" You can think of the Bible a set of memories handed down. Is a person just their memories, or are the memories part of a greater whole? Is that person part of a great whole - friendships, romances, family etc? While the words of the book itself don't really change (aside from differences in translation) - the Church itself is meant to be a living breathing thing. The Old Testament was written for specific people for specific times and situations. Imagine for a moment that you are chief of a large village (pop 250) in the Early Bronze Age. You have the most luxurious house in town and the latest in technology. Your 4' x 5' house has a tightly packed dirt floor, and your stone and mud walls extend 3 ft high before being capped with wooden stakes and reeds. Your house and the Temple (which has a stone floor - one large 3'x 6' stone) are the only ones with lighting - a small clay clamp burning animal fat. As the chief, you have a hammered copper knife and three copper arrowheads. The "natural" understanding of right and wrong consisted essentially of survival and things associated with survival. In light of the times it was written for, the Bible's interpretation and application was much more literal. The prohibitions against many things were not in that the behaviors were inherently bad, so much as the groups they were associated with were heathen (to the Jewish) groups such as the Canaanites or Philistines. In contrast to an ever changing series of information from the latest prophet, the New Testament was mean to be the final one to guide future generations. This "new and everlasting covenant" first appearance was the last supper in which Jesus proclaimed that He would be giving His divine life so that all others could be forgiven. The words written afterward that became the printed New Testament are the embodiment of that concept. Forgiveness is the key feature. The ability for the Church to change was explicitly given by Jesus: "He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood* has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” " The Church has interpreted that to mean that the ability to forgive others is not limited to baptism, but belongs more properly with all of us to varying degrees. When the Pope recently uttered "Who am I to judge" it was unusual. He is literally, the one who can judge and not just judge in terms of condemnation, but in terms of loosening restrictions. According to Catholic interpretation of the Bible, the Pope has the authority to declare that homosexuality was no longer "bound". Why he didn't speak more clearly, I don't know. The change isn't that the rules have changed, but rather the application of them has. If the overarching determinant of how to interpret the rules is loving your neighbor, forgiving others and loving God, than the older, more draconian application of the rules no longer make any sense. It's a flawed, slow, overly complex system, but the intention is that the correct interpretation of the message is more important than the timeline. Without rehashing old ground - Judeo Christianity was a key factor in (among other things, some good, some bad) for: the modern concept of freedom the evolution of modern science the modern system of hospitals " That's where Christianity trumps basic philosophies. Tolerance and forgiveness are not dependent upon what someone else does, but rather what is in your own heart. You are correct that Trump does represent the people with these ideals, but incorrect that it has anything to do with hate. If you have ever raised children, than you know that a firm but loving guiding hand must be used to help properly shape their future. It isn't out of hate that a parent restricts their child from eating candy all day long. It isn't out of hate that a parent coerces their child to do homework. It isn't out of hate that a parent grounds their child when they do something wrong. The parent's efforts are directed towards HELPING the child become a better person. Trump's goals are likewise. It isn't out of Hate that he wants to enforce immigration laws. It isn't out of Hate that he wants to strengthen America's economy etc. Like the unruly teenager throwing a temper tantrum after being grounded, America's leftists are very unhappy that they may have to live by some rules that are for their own good. And what do angry children often scream at their parents? "I HATE YOU!" or "YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE!" Which is essentially the left's complaints (with the lack of love being updated to the latest and worst -ism). I'm going to try and make that the last sidebar on this subtopic in this thread, as though it is tangentially related, it is starting to drift too far. This is not the face of hate - this is the face of someone who is humbled by the love shown to him by a community he deeply respects: ![]() You can bet your last albino rhoa feather that Trump is not going to start going after minorities of ANY kind. He WILL be going after those who are breaking the law and who are trying to harm us. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis
