Rip amulets?
" they can drop white and blue, so you find one per zone, but how many white and blue amulets do you find per zone? The amount of people who alch high tier amulets, even rare dropped amulets are probably making up less than 50% of good amulets, sometimes Ill alch 10 amulets I found in a single map. If I have to clear 7 maps just to find 1 rare talisman I dont see how their volume can really compete. How many good amulets now days have crit chance or % es mastered on them, or something mastered? Most I would say. Im expecting to play this league for 3 moths and not find a single rare talisman that will upgrade any of my standard league amulets. I may be wrong but from my experience of maybe 1 in 300 rare amulets being any good at all and it taking 1000s, maybe 10,000s of rare amulets over a year period to find 1 that is as good as what I use in perm leagues, I dont see much hope. I think Ill find some interesting things I can use somewhere fingers crossed, something bis for a niche idea. I see them being more like +1 curse or +1 frenzy amulets. Sure, in theory those are bis for virtually every build, who doesnt want temp chains AND enfeeble in their cwdt? How is that not universally better than 30 strength? Who here is using a +1 curse corrupted amulet on all their characters? Do you even have 1 single character using it? I think all of you can afford a +1 curse amulet so why not? Cause when you are min maxing, you actually need 30 strength and youve got this mess of a +1 curse amulet vs life, crit chance, crit multi, spell damage, mana regen monster amulet with 30 str you are not going to swap it for this... and youre not even going to swap it for this despite those stats being ok, its not what you want, all that other shit is too important. Maybe Im wrong but im picturing there being 50 rare amulets like that for every 1 talisman that will actually be a valid option just due to the massive amounts of rare amulets you can generate and how many of those amulets are only as good as they are because they had a free suffix to master crit chance or whatever. You cant yolo exalt, you cant master, the new implicits are insane but also a lot more niche than 16 all stats so now the stats actually have to directly match this implicit for it to come together and be powerful without also being severely compromised. I think the rng involved here is going to be too punishing for anyone but the luckiest or the richest to actually get one of these things that is seriously as good as the best rare amulets in the game right now. That frenzy amulet could have actually been ok, if I could have mastered crit chance on the free suffix. I cant because its corrupted. Ive been scouring and alching that thing using darkshrines over and over and over... rng is just too harsh on amulets, its lottery jackpot style hopeless. My main hope is that we can skin amulets using talismans and that Ill get some nice new skin transfers. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Not me. I am making it my mission to hoard them and fight Rigwald hundreds of times at tier 4. Maybe I'll even start a Rigwald service. |

Don't forget the possiblity that you'll be able to get them with Divination Cards. One that gives amulets may even give them from the start if the game classifies them as amulets. There may also be future cards that specifically give Talismen of certain rarity and tier.

well, fingers crossed. Im just saying you could alch 300 ilvl75+ onyx amulets right now and the chance of 1 of them actually being something I would use on a long term character is virtually non existent, even with the potential to master mod them.

I think you guys are crazy.
They will be BiS for sure. just having 2 implicit mods is enoguhf to make them better than any amulet curently in game , then the fact that these implicit mods can be very strong ( looks like some of them will be stronger than corupted amutets with + charges or something ) Just that alone is enoughf to make them BIS , now i hear that the prefix/sufix mods will be special as well ? yha no WAY normal amulets are going to compet with that . Also you can get them at low level . Im betting that you put 1 on in normal mode and never get back to a normal amulet for the rest of the character life span. Of course thare will be exceptions , perhaps you really need 40 Dex/int to run gems on your character or you are CI and need to run the eye . Other than that i can't see any reason why these amulets will not be WAY more powerfull than normal varaity . I hate to be "that guy" but seriously who cares about standard. The fact alone that you guys are trying to compare them to miriored gear and really good courptions on nice ammys is telling enoughf that they will be BiS . How about we compare them in the way they will actualy be used, like say a level 70 character who just droped a amulet at level 70 that has 2 implicit mods for his build AND half decent rolls ( say life and some resist. character is level 70 in a new leauge , so he dose not have stacks of mirriors . Yha it's BiS , and probley going to be Best on market as well. Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them. |

I have very specific build where i utilize only couple of thinks(no mana, no crit, no accu, no stats)
so majority of mads will be worthless for me add to that i will not find talisman like that So i will stay with my ammulet |

"Where did you see this. I think they will have plain old amulet mods. "How often do you think both implicits will fit your build? How often do you think the mods will also fit your build? Just out of curiosity, can you link the amulets you currently use that you found? I'm curious if you are really lucky with rng to get good amulets to drop. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

" What about shopping on poe trade? When you get enough currency and its time to change your amulet, what will be the first thing you are going to be looking in PoE trade? Pretty sure it will be talismans with the implicit you want. Amulets will always be an option of a last resort from now on. Especially by the end of the league when the market is overflowed with well rolled talismans |

" ![]() Amulets will not be always option of a last resort. 1. If you search for best item for amulet slot you will always go for talisman. 2. If you have limited currency you will float in certain price range where you will find amulets and talsimans. Good Talsimans are going to be very rare so for set price you will always be able to buy talsimans or amulet with better mods. Then you will have to decide if good implict is worth lack of good mods. "Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." Last edited by kamil1210#5432 on Dec 3, 2015, 10:31:05 AM

You know how hard it will be to find a GG talisman with 2 good implicits + at least 4 GOOD explicits? IT will take 600 tier 1 rare talismans (5x5x5x5) to have a chance at a tier 4 talisman with 2 implicits. Even then, chances are you won't get a talisman that's better than most good amulets.
Plus, all of you arguing that talismans may kill amulets years and years down the road... Maybe it's true. But who really cares? If you have a better rolled royal burgonet, you will use it over a well rolled eternal burgonet. Point is, there is always going to be a best in slot piece of gear and that is what you are working for. If everything had exactly the same power value and had no variance, most people wouldn't be playing this game. People who need stats will still use amulets. |
