[Known Issue] Connection Problems in Poland (hbg-b1-link.telia.net)

It seems like a congested hop from Warsaw to Hamburg is causing actual packet loss for everyone in Poland.

A quick list of the nodes involved so far:

If you are connecting from Poland and think you have connectivity issues, please follow these instructions:

Step 1) Download and Install PingPlotter: http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html

Step 2) Set the Packet Type to UDP in the options:

Step 3) Set any of the following as the address to trace:
Amsterdam: eu.login.pathofexile.com
Frankfurt: fra.login.pathofexile.com
London: lon.login.pathofexile.com
Milan: mil.login.pathofexile.com

Then set trace interval to 1 second.
Spoiler

Step 4) Let it trace for about 5 or 10 minutes (while you are playing PoE, to confirm that you are having the problems in game).
Spoiler

Step 5) Take a screenshot and post it on imgur.com

Step 6) Link that image here in a reply. You can use [ img ] tags (for the direct link ".png" or ".jpg"), [ url ] tags, or simply paste the link as text if you don't know how to format it. Then we can help diagnose a problem, and may ask you to create your own thread.

If your problem doesn't involve packet loss or latency with tpnet.pl or telia, then don't reply here. Start a new thread with as much information as you can about the problem.

Step 7) If your problem is with Orange Poland or Telia, please call your ISP. GGG can do nothing about the lag in Europe. Your ISP can contact its peers and hopefully fix this situation soon. Call your ISP and complain.

I hope you can give me a good advice.

You need to call your ISP and complain just like Ion has said. There is nothing else to do at this stage. The only people who can fix this is your ISP.

What did you cut out there?

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your connection. Did you get high latency while playing the game during this trace?

I am also playing from Poland and just like you I am affected by shitty Telia connections. My ISP cant or simply dont want to do anything about it. It happened before:

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1291994

and for some time it was OKish.

Now POE is simply not playable anymore for me becouse of packet loss on a hop described in this thread. I was desperate and played for a while through US servers. It helped a little but ping was horrible (150ms +). You can try this and switch to predictive mode. Depending on your %packet loss it might help a little with POE experience.

There is also another solution which I am using right now. I hope i am not violating any formum rules by introducing a commercial software here but WTFast solved my problems. It alternates your route to servers and allows to play with lower ping and no spikes.

You can get it here: https://www.wtfast.com/ and its free for first 30 days. There are also 2 other players from my guild using so it might help you.

Here is also a Reddit post where we discussed this issue.

edit: typos

A gaming VPN would probably help a lot, but you do have to pay extra for them, when your ISP should be giving you decent service. When looking for a VPN, get one with a node somewhere near you and one near the PoE servers, since you don't want to use the same congested route while outside of the VPN.

I would use anything except WTFast though, since they pay for positive reviews:

Did not know about that tbh. Any alternative you can suggest?

I don't use a VPN in Poland, so I don't know which have servers near Warsaw and any PoE gateways.

I've heard these are reputable services: BattlePing, ExpressVPN, PureVPN, IPVanish, Private Internet Access, VyprVPN
A few people I've talked to have tried contacting their ISP without much luck. They have had better results when using a VPN, or SSH going.

So for others, I'd try contacting your ISP, but you may have to just work around the problem.

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?
Thx for the info. I'll give them a try.
