Is this the end of POE?

As for trade.. Trade is fine, I dont know why people complain. It takes 1 night to learn and set up a shop with procurement/ AQU

There's my biggest issue. Not only do you need to use a third party app in order to make trading reasonably efficient, but you need to give that app at least some level of access to your login information in order to use it. It's absolutely terrible from a security standpoint. I know the apps in question have been used by a lot of people and have a good reputation(so far), but it's still an extremely bad idea.

Extremely bad for the players that use 3rd party tools which require your credentials only. Don't use said tools and there is no risk.
Or
Be another one of those "my account was hacked" people with no idea how they got hacked. It makes me laugh it's so bad, similar to carving your pin into your bank card and then wondering why your account got cleaned out when you lost your wallet.

The trade channel works ( barely ) and I'll be damned if I hand over my credentials to a 3rd party.... Trusted or not. So archaic trade shouting channel it is because it's better to be safe than sorry. Well for me anyway, too much time invested.

^You can simply make a shop manually :) i do that every league.

I don't trust the backlash if it ever goes south. And i also firmly believe GGG should implement these feature's in their core game and making a shop manually is a fine reminder of that.

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
If you're not enjoying the game, stop playing it for awhile. It'll be fresher when you get back.

Yeah, it would be fun to become the disgruntled procurement guy, and take all those accounts and write a quick login delete character program. Maybe dump the stash too if it's not too hard to do. Then just loop until purge complete.

Or just cash out on his success and sell the program to some random RMT site. And if someone really wanted to be nasty about it, your in-game items might be the least of your worries at that point.

Also considering that they've been at least implicitly(in some cases, explicitly as well) endorsing such tools for a while now, I have to wonder how much GGG is exposing themselves to a risk of being sued if something like that ever did happen. Even though they would have a good chance of winning such a suit, it could still cost them a lot of money to fight it.

Maybe they don't have 3rd party liability laws in NZ. This type of scenario has wiped out many a company in U.S. Though

These Steam charts clearly indicate that Path of exile is not dota2 or South Park:Stick of Truth.

They also provide statistics of online Steam players as an ongoing analysis and do not take into account non-steam clients.

In conclusion

We can safely assume that Path of Exile should be re-named to Dota2,played exclusively on Steam and have it's own TVcartoon to enjoy when unable to play the game.

Doing this would insure that POE is not ded yet.

For f*cks sake... this sh*t comes up every time a 4 month league ends.
Every time: "PoE doomed", "PoE is dead","End of PoE", blah blah blah. After all these years of these threads consistently popping up you'd think that people might finally figure out that no...the game is not dead...These threads might as well be paired with the Mayan Doomsday Calendar. The earth will cease to exist one day so it is inevitable that the people preaching the end of the world will be right, but they are treated as a joke because they have never been right due to their incredibly premature and unrealistic predictions, just like the people who make these threads. Sure this game has its issues and will one day see its end, but it has a long way to go, a very long way.
