Malformation Piety Boss. Are you kidding me?
Do you consider a boss that has like a chance of 90% to kill your level 90+ character very doable?

" on what planet would anyone with a high level character consider a boss that killed them 2 times in a row doable? sounds like a fantastic way to waste days and weeks worth of exp. Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Aug 6, 2015, 11:51:07 AM

I've done the boss as well in the 76 map and killed my lv92 tornado shot ranger, 4k hp, acro/phaseacro, 45k dps ts, with 60% movespeed. Should be a cakewalk with 60% movespeed right?
Wrong, Immediately upon entering she is standing at the bottom left corner of the room alongside the wall. I quickly clear the blue pack of mobs inside the boss room while shes tossing out her ground aoes avoiding them successfully. Knowing full well that the beam is comming immidiately after the ground aoes I charge toward her at the wall to avoid the beam. Even with 60% movespeed I was unable to get from the center of the room to her alongside the wall to circle around. I reentered the map and sat outside the boss room whispering to a couple mates how this boss was stupid and shouldnt be able to cast that beam while sitting on the walls of the area. I noticed her moving around while I was outside the boss room as you can see into the bottom side of that boss area even while outside. So i waited for her to get her dumbass off the wall and to the center of the area. While she was in the center its a fun fight... actually giving you a chance to place the ground aoes in a way that wont hurt you while avoiding the beam. I think this boss really needs to either teleport or run to the center of the boss area before she casts her beam. Starting the fight off when shes at a wall is a death sentence. If your char has knock back and you push her to a wall its a death sentence. The main skill of dealing with this fight is leaving the area and then waiting for her to leave a wall...... |

My second or 3rd ever 76 map just dropped for me, ever, and from a 74 boss no less last night. I was like, WOW a rare map from a boss!! What the heck is "Malformation"? I thought to myself "Guess I'll run this tomorrow."
Glad I peeped this thread. :) Will save for 2 more to vendor. Or just skip the boss. If I run and skip boss will definitely scour and chis and alc just for a chance at some +1's. Edit: It does suck that I finally get another 76 and the boss kill is impractical. Pretty much can take on everything else. fractured weaver chamber last night got my blood pumping tho. :) Last edited by Shinare#4581 on Aug 6, 2015, 1:14:39 PM

The thing that annoys me the most that it's not even a high level map in particular - it's only lvl 76. They really have to nerf hammer that boss.

honestly the only change this boss needs is a teleport to middle of room before the laser comes
and maybe a mechanic that you can use to make her not cast balls |

This happens with every new map tileset, the bosses are always way over tuned because the devs keep trying to make more challenging encounters with each expansion.
Compare Dominus to Piety, then Malachai to Dominus I shudder thinking about what act 5 will bring. |

I'll add my vote.
Apart from the insane damage, the main problem is that Piety goes up against the walls, and when she does the 360 beam you're unable to run around her. Those stub things on the ground are also extremely random. Some have collision detection while others do not. If the fight is going to be based around a 360 beam, the entire arena should be clear and easy to navigate. I'll be skipping this boss every single time from this point forward. The design is absolutely abhorrent. |

Here is some additional feedback about the things on the ground.
