Thanks for the fix.
One other note... I've never been able to get "Maelström Staff" on the filter to work. I always get the message: "Unable to parse parameter for BaseType rule: No base types found matching "MaelstrXm Staff" (where X = a question mark in a solid diamond icon). I've had to delete that entry to make it work. Is this maybe a missing font issue in my Windows? | |
" As long as the file is using unicode/UTF-8 encoding and not ANSI the "ö" should be saved and read correctly from the file. If you are copying the raw text and saving the filter manually, try using wordpad or notepad++ instead of notepad. | |

That solved it, thanks! I had been using Notepad to work on the filter previously.

Save the loot filter file "goodcake.filter" as well as the sound files to your My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile folder.
Select the filter from the "List of Item Filters" at the bottom of the UI settings in POE. |
