Proper way to deal with rude/insulting people in-game ?

That's a lot of wasted time to try to prove a point to the other guy who clearly gives 0 fucks. I've stopped trying to change people like that years ago. Much easier to just move on and find someone you can deal with.

Right, but these 5 minutes break helped me to calm down and find comfort in the forum.
I also forgot to mention that I hopefully meet a lot of nice people that really make my day.

That's the way. Focus on the nice ones, fuck the others.

I've read a thread (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/133078) saying that this kind of people can be reported in-game, but I'm not sure I want to do that because I know GGG has so much better work & interesting things to do than replacing Mom & Dad in teaching social & educational basic rules to a random player.

GGG have a dedicated support and moderation staff. If you have been mistreated in game, you can feel free to report the issue. It is their job to be aware of abusive elements of the player base. You aren't bothering them by reporting situations where you legitimately feel the policies of the game have been violated.

Try not to let negative interaction experiences get you down. Most of the playerbase is quite friendly. Maybe he was just having a hard day. At any rate, treat it like life, and focus on the positive people and try not to let the negative ones get you down. :)

Ignore and move on :)

This.

It's not worth your time.

It's a flicker strike gem. If you still need one I can give you a levelled one.

Hit me up in game.
Why do you keep bugging the man for something that does not matter at all?? You keep on going and going and going. I am usually quite polite and I wouldn't tell you to "go fuck yourself", but you would definitely be in the 'danger zone' to go on ignore.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. The guy just keeps harassing him after he was told it was a mistake. Then he just goes on and on about telling the truth when it was clearly just a mistake, and he was even told in plain language it was a mistake. And he just keeps badgering the guy. That guy probably would not have normally responded that way, but really how much pestering can most people take before they tell someone to buzz off? All you had to do was say, "it wasn't supposed to be listed for 1 alch? Ok nevermind then." and its over. Everything after that point was just you trying to pressure the guy to sell something for less than he wanted to sell it for, and you keep harassing him after he tells you no two or three times. So who was the one being rude? In my opinion it was you.

See... I was going to say this, and then I took my own advice and just walked away. Do it.
just ignore them
At that point you offer them 4 chaos for the gem, then stop replying.

Same way in real life... wish them well, and hope you never have to deal with them again. Really important lesson in life.

Don't make the problem worse. That's what you're doing when you start trying to change their behavior. Quit it. Just leave them be. Taking screen shots and pursuing "justice" is just going to make your life miserable.

There's your best advice right there.
