Proper way to deal with rude/insulting people in-game ?
so instead of alerting him to the obvious mistake, you try to buy his lvl 18 gem for 1 alch? then you persist in annoying him when he tells you its a mistake...rather than leaving him alone or offering a fair amount?
recently that's happened to me and others as well, where for some reason items ive had listed for much more got switched around with other items and tagged for the lower price. i had a 20c-ish sword listed... for 18c, but something happened with either my stash or poe.trade where it was suddenly listed for 1 fusing.-i did NOT list it for this price-not my mistake but the system goofing up somewhere down the line. i had about a dozen people all pming me to buy it for 1 fusing all within a few days, none of them alerting me to the potential mistake. another instance is when i tried to buy an incandescent heart in 1mhc-they were all listed for 18c-1ex except one for 1c... obviously the cheapest one is the one id want, so i asked the guy if that price was right, hinting that there might be a problem, and of course it wasnt. instead of getting the reaction your salesman gave you, this guy sold the armor to me for less than all the rest on poe.trade... yeah he was rude to you and he shouldnt have acted that way, but it looks like your dishonesty got that reaction out of him. you should take responsibility for that also, and just turn the other cheek-you were both at fault. theres a chance you werent the first person trying to snag the gem off of him either, it gets irritating after awhile and we can't always all immediately change our listing. you mightve been the 5th, 6th, 7th person trying to take his level 18 gem for 1alch...and just because everyone else is doing it doesnt make it right either. sure we all like a good deal, but within reason. this one was obvious. The moment you found out it wasn't for sale price, just stop there. Don't even try to correct them, it's not worth it. Some people might appreciate the fact that you would have pointed that out, I would for example. But to keep yourself safe just keep interest to the item in the future.

I cant change my wife how can I change people I dont know?
The most important thing is to adapt and dont cry for such things. You can either ignore him and take it as a joke or fight him back and see who makes the best insult. In the secound one I would start with " your mom is so fat.... " Last edited by rusclaudiualin#0534 on Jun 9, 2015, 4:41:32 AM

" A lot of players (myself included) don't consider level 18 gems to have noticeable extra value, so I wouldn't fault FNX-Heroes for considering that offer legit. Pricing is also something many players don't get very well. While there may have been some players trying to take advantage in an issue with your pricing, there may also have been other players who didn't know the price was wrong and were being honest when offering to buy the item. Finally, there are also people trying to lure you with some prices, then increasing the price after you contact them. It's sometimes hard to accept that the item that has a price tag doesn't have the right one due to a mistake rather than a marketing strategy. |

" eh. i just searched poe.trade sorting for standard and lvl 18 gems. most are listed between 3-10c with the majority close to 5c. Leveled gems have always been worth more than a lvl 1 gem, particularly lvl 15-17 and up. it takes time to level them, theyre closer to lvl 20 and can then be vendor reciped into a 20q gem, and the buyer is, more often than not, of a higher level and has more currency to spare than a new player around lvl 1-31 and who just needs a gem to get going. its always been that way. its why a 20q gem is normally about 1ex, and a 20/20 is 2-3ex. if you disagree widely on the value of them then that puts you in the minority; although to some degree values are subjective.. not to a degree as extreme as valuing a high level gem at 1 alch. in reply to your second paragraph: the op is apparently an experienced player who should know better. the seller told him it was a mistake, and wanted nothing to do with the sale, and op just kept badgering him. not cool. (in my case, yes im sure some were being honest -and of course ive considered that- but certainly some were not-not a single person alerted me to the obvious mistake either way. in the end its not a big deal and just irritating, but something i expect from people. i was just using that as an example, and to set up my following example.) your last paragraph: thats almost always due to a mistake. ive actually only once or twice run into someone whos done that and i trade a lot. its very rare, and when it happens i just assume and accept that it was a mistake...especially if the seller is explicitly telling me its a mistake and let it go-why question it? (sometimes it happens if buyer and seller miscommunicate and are in different leagues. also if the person is mapping and thinks youre asking for a different item...some of us have a lot in our shop and cant remember everything.) no need to pester people though (not you, op). not replying anymore. gl :) Last edited by awave#0377 on Jun 9, 2015, 9:16:05 AM
