Reduce end game Attack/Cast speed

How about making the frequency of encounter to mobs with lightning thorns, tempest shield, corrupted blood, counter attack gems more frequent, maybe 10 times more frequent, so that players have to choose between dps and survivability. This seems reasonable to me but most of the player will not agree since hight at is really fun to play.

The idea of increasing per hit damage higher than present has a lot of problems, like stun, max socket number limited to 6 etc... the reflect seems really good mechanism so the players have to choose between maximizing per hit or dps with AT.

IMO changing skills like viper strike so that they work better when slower AT speed would be interesting.


Edit: Maybe making Melee physical damage gem to benefit from slower AT would be interesting since the gem is of the most boring for many players currently.

That's the problem, attack speed increases but action becomes more static.

Which still does nothing, as your character gets faster you react less to its actions, speeding up enemies does the same for their actions.

You know, on the topic of attack speed, I'm smelling a rat. They say the merciless library quest is bugged in beta but I suspect it isn't the whole story, it created a multistrike shortage which might show how the players do without it. It's possible they want to nerf it in some way, maybe reduce attack speed multiplier to something like 50% and reduce amount of repeats by one.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I like this idea. It sort of relates to a post I made about powerful skills with cooldowns.

Not many seemed to like my suggestion.

But this idea gets around the cooldown aspect and gives you an option to have a very strong attack but slow. Then you choose when to take the risk to slow down and use a slow heavy hit.

I was kinda suprised to see some opinions backing this - but then I remember...

My expirence as a HC temp league only player is a bit diffrent. The highest my melee chars ever get too is around lv 85, and half the time they are 2h and using a 1.2 attack speed weapons. I never get to a point thats even close to 'too fast' with all the life and defence nodes needed for survival. Even with a multistrike.

If they pull back on attack/cast speed somehow I hope it would be done in a way that takes it away from the top but still leaves what little we have at the bottom.

Well, the lvl curve is harder higher end anyways due to the game lacking in high lvl content. If all 10 ats are out one day there will surely be lvl 90+ zones for easier farming.
