I still don't get it. :( What does this linking thing has to do with anything else? The pricing? So confusing.

Dude 1 is trading a perfect non-6L Carcass Jack, he considers it's worth more than a non-perfect one, because the difference between a 6L random and a 6L perfect is higher than the difference he is charging. Dude 2 considers that, due to the risk of messing up the linking, the increased value of the Carcass Jack is illegitimate.

Both think the other is trying to rip them off, when they are simply both trying to get what they consider decent trades from the other one.

I myself was recently treated like the worst possible scum for considering that buying an Item Quantity gem at 45 chaos wasn't a rip off.

45c for legacy gem... oh welp. : P
Thanks for translation tho - in fact, I think that there is no point in charging more in that case. :V
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
I sold a few IQ gem for 30c and I thought I ripped the fuck out of them... guess someone had me beat.

WTF did i just read?
rule number 30 something of trading:

mind your own business and dont bother sellers/buyers that you dont intend to buy from/sell to

you see somebody selling a shit item for 10 ex? great, DONT PM HIM/HER JUST MOVE ON

you gain nothing from telling this person that their item is shit/overpriced. You dont know if they're a clueless noob or somebody trying to legitimately sell this item. That isn't your problem and you have only yourself to blame when situations like the one OP got himself in arise. I know it's tempting to pm the player buying 90 fuse for 1 ex and call him a retard but you have to control your itchy keyboard finger.

IGN: Inshiterate
So this is art? Awful lousy way to make coin

It's a very common strategy within trading simulator like PoE.
Even when you have no intention to buy for example... however you are very clear about the profit margin by PM someone that his goods are shit/overpriced and how he's retarded helps manipulate the price... I don't know if you know how to play the PoE trading game but I brought many MANY items that are of zero use to me... just because I know that I can turn around and make a easy quick and painless profit out of them.

Someone was trying to sell a mjolner for 38ex... I pmed him and told him "lol you know they are fucking nerfing that in 2 weeks or so right? no one will buy for 38ex now". I switch account and pmed him and purchased the mjolner for 26ex... not even 26ex pure its like 18ex and some random uniques and fusing + some chaos... And I sold that mjolner the next day for 37ex EASY.

Everyone has their own view and everyone has their own value set for certain items... the best PoE traders will use that to their advantage just like real business... and price manipulation is a basic tool used by many successful businessmen (or gamers in poe's case).

Also a fun fact about business IRL... you know NY city charges some hotdog stand almost $300,000 a year for the liscense fee to sell hotdogs inside the central park? And so you know these hotdog stands can make over $400,000 a year by just selling $2 hotdogs?
Funny how business works eh?

Now THAT is something that should be ban-worthy.

Nah, Chris wants us to interact with each other, and he (apparently) wants us to act like dicks, as scamming is not only non-bannable, but encouraged.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
That's actually not a scam... you can say I ripped him off or I simply manipulated his view on the value of his item.

He's obviously new to the game, got uber lucky at docks (iLv65 mjolner) and 2 stacks of exalts plus many shiny uniques he has never seem seems too irresistible to turn down...

Oh did I? too bad ^^

Oh PoE has free trading... someone willing to sell and I was willing to buy. "Win-Win" for both players.

And also what did they say again? oh yea "don't hate the player, hate the game".
