5L, 6L drop.... true or myth ?

I have many chars and have never found/crafted 6L

my approach to 5-linking is this:

I use jeweler orbs first. If 6S occurs before 5S, I link manually (because of better 5L odds and a chance for 6L), else I 5L with Vorici

what do you mean pick up? you don't have to pick up anything you can see all items on the ground if it is a 6l or not. i don't get how picking an item up modifies the number of links somehow?

well I might be wrong but my thinking is it's 300:1 to 6S a chest. Its' ~1000:1 to 6L that 6S.

300 x 1000 = 300,000 :1

This seems to be borne out too IME. Ive certainly crossed about 300K chests in my play got 1 6L

*not counting simple robes

5L drops are really not that uncommon. I could say I get one like every 4-8 hours of playing.
But 6L? Oh, man, that is the real "bigfoot"...I have played since CBT and I haven't got one, only 3 times I got a 6L was when I just fused something worthless with 6 sockets with some 5 fuses.

I could say you are lucky (or Im unlucky). My personal experience says its much more. for example last season Ive made 4 chars to 80s and havent found a single one.. (edit: actually I got 6L weapons once from corrupted quantity box but thats not typical linking)

there are other variables though, spending time on leveling and slower kill speed until the builds starts working properly versus ie playing only high level fast char in full party and high quantity maps... in short, "depends" (as usual:))

Been playing for about a year on and off.

I only till recently found my first 6L in a box with the mod "Sockets are fully linked". Often it drops 4 sockets and in rare occasions 5 sockets. But nothing is impossible with the power of RNG.

Well that was my tad story about 6L drop.

I've been playing on and off since 2012 and I have no idea how many hours I've logged but it's been a lot I'm sure. Since I started, I've had 1 exalt drop (which happened just a few days ago) and I've had 1 5L (two handed white sword) drop. Never had a 6L drop.
