No point trying to be a nice guy on POE trade
I never came across this kind of people. Almost everyone has been kind, the usual "hf gl" or "t4t, stay safe" is almost always present. The worst experience I had were people who would just accept the invite, trade and leave without typing a word. But that isn't even rude in my opinion.

In PoE, as in life, it is almost always in your own self interest to be kind to others. Even when the majority of them take it for granted or still try to screw you, once in a while someone will give you something super valuable in return. I've had very positive experiences with strangers through being polite in trading - getting free stuff, big discounts in the future, getting to mooch off of their maps for exp, etc. And new friends, duh!
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

These Trading threads make me sad everytime. I LOVE HAGGLING.
for example my latest item i bought. the item was listed at 1ex15c I started the conversation with my own offer "hello, im interested in your shield, but i do not have the currency you are looking for, is the price negotiable?" "Hi, what kinda price you have in mind" "I dont have pure exalts or not enough chaos, but i could offer you 10regrets+10chaos+20fuses is this ok?" (most ppl i have tried to trade in the game ignore at this point) "That isnt quite enough for the shield, do you have anything else to offer?" "ok.. i can add 10 regals to the offer" "ok deal" then we traded and both of us were happy about it, added the dude to friends list and mapped with him after on many occasions. (im also usually throwing extra for the guys who want to haggle like this dude i gave one full atziri set extra just because he didnt ignore and didnt act like a ass, thats my usual way to trade, i do buy items with set prices if i do have the currency and the price seems right to me, but for those occasions i need to haggle I LOVE IT) |

" I'm pretty sure OP would agree with that too, so am I. He's speaking of players bitching to get the correct links for them before trading or giving an offer that is 7.5 times lower than what he had in mind. You on the other hand gave that guy a pretty fair starting offer (30 chaos equiv) considering his price, and you add almost the same amount right after that (if we consider 10 regals are 20c equivalent). When the buyer is fair and the seller is not close-minded, of course trading is a smooth thing. IGN : @Morgoth

" This is abit weird tbh. You offer him 30c eq, just to offer 66% on top of that a moment later. That's not how trading works at all. Haggling is normal. Im more annoyed by people that are set in stone with their prices. And then get mad when people pass up on their items. |

I always check poe.trade when I have a decent item, and I put it on the lowest price possible for the roll. Not 10C lower, just a tad lower. This has always been my strategy for selling items fast as there is no point for me to having them rotting on my stash asking for a high price that I may or may not get.
Specially playing new leagues where a lot of the item prices go down by A LOT as the league progress (compared to currency, like divines and exalts that normally goes). But in PoE it's probably the first game I get constantly lowballed to oblivion. Few days ago I put a decent ES armor for sale on 1MHC, 10C was the price. Lowest around was 24C, but there were others with no price around mine and I stopped playing it after 4/4 so I said... yeah whatever 10C, help someone out and sell fast. Guy PMs me offering 2C for it, I told him 2C is too low, but I could even lower the price down to 8C as I wasn't playing anymore. Dude just goes bonkers and says "2C YES NO?" I mean, maybe the guy only had 2C, he could have talked his way into it, tell him he was new or trying 4/4 fast etc. Nope, lowball to the end. Today something similar happened, some claw that I don't remember ( I think it was Essentia Sanguis ) , 10C, decent roll, most with those rolls were on the 15C mark. Guy ask for price, I tell him 10C, he says he bought <link> for 5C and it was too high, he linked one of the worst possible rolled. I explained him that rolls matter for price, if he wanted to pay low, then he would get a low roll, but I could negotiate the price a bit lower. "5C last offer". Another guy that ended up probably buying a lower rolled one for far more than I would have sold it. TL;DR : Learn to trade and haggle. Not stupid haggle, not lowballing, just a bit of patience and talk will do the trick on most cases. |

" Have you ever thought that alot of people acctualy SET THE PRICE IN STONE because they first check poe.xyz, they make a better price/deal for theyr similar item, and place it for sale? and then one of you imbeciles comes along and tries to negociate when acctualy the guy who is selling lowered the price EXACTLY so he can stop negociating for a item and play the game more? If a item is worth 1ex, most of the people are selling it for 1ex more or less, and a guy who doesn't like to bargain sets the price for 75-80% of the normal price, stop beeing a douchebag and try to negociate even a better price and buy the freakin` item. P.S. Imbeciles or lowballers will not understand but it doesn't matter since alot of people from what i saw started sticking to theyr prices because they understand the players > if he needs it > he will buy it for the fair price!
