Grim Dawn or Path of Exile?

GD: has no interesting skills
POE: Has a crap ton of interesting skills and skill modifiers

sorry i have to correct you on this
even if i dont know anything about GD
i can say that what you say about POE is not "entirely" true

POE has crap ton of potentially interesting skills
but GGG decides to have only a few of them to be good at a specific period so their can be a rotation of good/medium/bad skill
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it
reads like a poe advertizement. what about power creep after expansions?
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
I enjoy both games, PoE more. And I should say that I enjoyed Grim Dawn, because I felt I did everything I wanted to do in the game pretty fast. Also, nice biased listing.

Too bad the gameplay of Grim Dawn is shitty at best. At least it was as of June of last year

Not really. At least when I tried it gameplay was better than PoE, as you can have a variety of different skills, not just 1 attack skill like 99% PoE builds have. Not being limited by gem slots (in aura builds you often hardly have any left) and only 8 hotkey (7 actually) slots for skills feels great.

For example in PoE I found that for me playing Animate Weapons build was impossible since 7 skillslots (1 for move) was not nearly enough for all the skills that I needed.

It's was still a hell of a lot more boring, like I said, as of June last year when I tried it last
You make my ochinchin go doki doki.

Grim Dawn vs Titan Quest.

Go.

Loaded up TQ:IT for a few weeks... still has legs. Haven't played GD... probably wont.
I liked Titan Quest!
First game to introduce that kind of intelligent dual classing.
It had a lot of variety, both in skills and items.
And a very nice atmosphere. No classic dark theme, but a beautifull ancient world.
Don't know why it never became a big hit... .

it WAS a big hit in europe, as much as a single arpg can be a hit anymore

thing is, D2 was a game changer in regards to online play in ARPGs. its tough as fuck to create a 'hit' (ie sell units) with a single player-only ARPG game nowadays, sadly enough.

Titty Quest still rocks. So many innovations. So much flexibility. Excellent usage of pseudo-history as you move, literally, from the Ancient World of the West to the Ancient World of the East.

Grim Dawn is just bland by comparison.

I dont know about that. GD is good on its own, for its budget. of course the non-canonical setting is what separates TQ from the rest (and GD for that matter).

TQ and GD otherwise arent that different though- GD is nearly a continuation of TQ.
It's not known as Grim Yawn for nothing, sure PoE has a multitude of flaws but at least you can stay awake more than 10 minutes while playing it.

Oh, system-wise, absolutely. And that's another part of the problem: we can still play Titty Quest. So why switch to GD?]

I'll confess, I haven't touched grim dawn in ages but the beginning was just so lacking in hooks when I did play it.

you know, thats a good point. Ive tried answering this, and honestly I'm having troubles coming up with something convincing.

I gues I'll say that while I liked TQ, it was a 'do a couple of builds beat the game and fugheddaboutit' type game for me...so GD offers new skills, 'challenge' dungeons like SoT and just a fresh start/new game/setting to explore, to have another one of those 'do 1-3 builds, beat the game and fuhgedaboutit' experiences

*shrugs*
