Riggers are a little more of a specialty class and only really get kicking once you've bought some good drones from what I remember. I'd recommend making a more straightforward street samurai gun archtype at first. Riggers are really cool though, I wouldn't count them out.

Yes, from what I understand SR:HK is a completely stand alone game.
