Anyone up for some Monopoly? Not much of a D&D person.

Derision,

I am playing the forum game, pretty fun so far. Got lv95 I think. Your level?

No idea, but I just striked 666 posts. Do I get a shiny, pentagram-shaped badge for that?

Lol at you people going all crazy now, as if GGG did something awful to you that you all didnt know about already. Or didnt you?

I knew GGG knows every keystroke i make and whatever else they need to know about hax and cheats. All game companies do that btw, or at least 90% of them, the 10% that dont are shady businesses anyways.

GGG knowing all the keystroke information you send them is a bit different than capturing information from your system and phoning it home. Kinda shady, but yeah, not that uncommon, though there are some laws in place about how you can do it since Blizzard was sending unrelated info home back in the day. My main concern is using something other than AHK for my macros might cause a false positive in their new little system.

As long as they are not banning people for using Battle.net launcher or AHK or Spotify, who really cares if they see the proccesses you have running? What do you have to hide? Also, I doubt they would just ban people for running certain processes, they will probably take care about who they ban. For example only ban processes that are writing to game memory and such.

I could have AHK running for other things than PoE for example, so if they decide that AHK scripts are not allowed for PoE, it would be silly for them to start banning people for running AHK because they wouldnt know if it was for PoE or something else. I could use my keyboard's inbuilt macro system to do the exact same thing and they wouldnt see it in the proccesses.

What im saying is, unless you have something that writes to memory or you have stuff called "PoEBot.exe" or w/e running you are probably ok. And even if you had "PoEBot.exe" running they would probably not blatantly ban because of a proccess' name.

Its not about what youre using, its how you use it. You can use a gun for self defense or for a bank robbery.

Just dont go against the TOS and youre all good, thats what their search for hax does, nothing more.

Creepy logic. Heard the same kinda shit when that godawful PATRIOT Act was passed.

Still, just want to be assured that my macro software is safe. I think if they're sneaking in monitoring software onto my system, it's fair to be able to ask and get a response from them about what they consider acceptable.

First of all, if you use ahk with a button push its fine, if its automatic its not fine, just to get that out of the way here.

And if you think they should tell you something about this, email them. Making threads about stuff like RMTing and hax software isnt helping the players nor GGG.

I dont see why anyone who is not doing something they think is illegal, would have any reason to worry. They cant do much by knowing the names of the processes that you have running. I assume you dont have a proccess with your phone number or social number as the name, so who cares? Oh no, they can see that I am playing MyLittlePony.exe in the background, now they are going to release this to the public and make fun of me, whatever shall I do.
Big GGG Brother is watching YOU!

Spoiler
So play nice.
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.
Wow, just wow. These comments. Do none of you understand the right to privacy? Do none of you understand that trust is a two way street?

GGG snuck this crap onto my computer, behind my back, lied about the purpose of the patch, violated my privacy because they didn't trust me not to cheat. Am I supposed to then still trust them not to use their newly installed capabilities maliciously or to access personal, private, data? Hell no, I expect them to be a sneaking, lying, untrustworthy skunk like they've just proven themselves to be.

I've already uninstalled PoE, will never be reinstalling, will never have anything to do with Grinding Gear Games again, so I don't give a shit about their forum rules or any damn thing else that concerns them at this point. However I had to relog back on these boards just long enough to post this message.

To my fellow US citizens,
My generation, my father's generation, and his father's generation all fought and died to keep and protect the rights you all have as free citizens of the U.S.A. Now it doesn't even bother you when a freaking game company goes behind your back and violates those rights? Man, what a let down, what a waste.

I'm opposed to it as a matter of principle, slippery slopes and all that jazz. Still, as I said, my main concern is GGG fucking up in interpreting the info they're gathering more than anything else.
