no to AH plz just no dont ruin our game.

How would it ruin the game?

Why should someone spend absurd amounts of time trading in a forum or in a chat system when mechanics like auction houses exist.

This game is not diablo 2 10+ years old, it is a modern f2p game. Trading may not be a problem for some now, but over time it will get more tedious and more annoying and downright frustrating to the play experience, this will not get many people using the cash shop to support the game if it is frustrating to them.

Upgrades are very very RNG to find. Which again raises questions of frustration of do you want to farm for possibly hours for an upgrade?

Trading for an upgrade also takes hours of time because you need to find an upgrade with the specific level and stats and possible sockets that you want, and then negotiate with the seller a price.

Firstly, the seller always wants maximum and rarely wants to negotiate. They will also always overprice their item (I'm selling chain for 4 gcp pst).

A Player run economy without boundaries or mechanics simply doesn't work, which leaves "buyers" of items frustrated and ultimately quit playing.

It is already showing that people are sick of staring at trade full of trolls and garbage, and also searching many "forum shops" wasting time trying to find rares they would need.

Ultimately I think the old classic d2 style trading is retarded, it was retarded then and it still is retarded now. There's a reason the Auction House Mechanic was created.

I'm not saying an Auction House is the "done done" solution, I'm opening a discussion about the problem and how it could be remedied better.

I see your point.
But it will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happen.
Plus more then half of the community that plays would disagree highly anyway.

Edit: NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER.

I agree to no AH but this might be the fit to everyone's frustrations

Here is my idea.

start with a bulletin board. then have each item listed ie. boots, rings....
then have a sub category breaking that down into 10lv increments. when you find an item you like there would be a small text box containing the sellers info and what they are looking for in return for said item. no biding to see how high you can get an idiot to pay. just set your price and wait for a PM. no need to wait around all day trying to sell a single item. the only thing I haven't figured out is a way to remove listings after they sell. maybe add and tag to items as they are posted and when the item goes into someone elses inventory that tag removes the item from the bulletin boards.

now this is only my take on simplifying trading as I see it

Thanks for your input OP, but I think we have had enough of people asking for an AH. At the very least suggest an original idea not something which is the abomination that is the auction house of Diablo 3. An auction house in this game will be the death of it.
An AH is what made Diablo so boring for me. If something like this was to come to PoE (which I HIHGLY doubt).. Make it more along the lines of the WoW auction house where you can only put Bind of Equiped gear, so you still have to play for your gear instead of just buying your way to the top.

Or, you know.. Just talk to people?

AH is for lazy people.

bumping VitorDoom's post

This is exactly what the system needs, it's no AH but a forum item search tool for ease of trading. Sadly i doubt many people are aware of it, even use it as i was. I doubt many people use the forum for trade for that matter. But a tool like this may be a step forward.

What if this can be expanded to a marketplace mechanic where you can leave notes an such as "selling 3 pieces of low level duelist gear cheap, pm me!" witch the person looking for this type of deal can find it with key words search "duelist, low level, gear" and such. Just throwing ideas around. Yes i am aware the forum offers this type of trading, but as i said i doubt many people use the forum. If you can introduce a mechanic that "ingrates the forum ingame", if i may put it that way, of course my words are to be interpreted, it would better the trading in general. Just my 2 cents.
