I am sick of spending hours trying to trade for upgrades

Firstly, the seller always wants maximum and rarely wants to negotiate. They will also always overprice their item (I'm selling chain for 4 gcp pst).

A Player run economy without boundaries or mechanics simply doesn't work, which leaves "buyers" of items frustrated and ultimately quit playing.

While I agree that we need a better way to find what is for sale (searchable for sale stashes please) I have to take offense to these things you said.

Firstly, if a seller wants maximum and rarely wants to negotiate and they still end up selling their item then guess what... they were correct as to the items value. 4 gcp is actually quite a bit under the current going rate for a chain btw so if that was an actual example and not just random numbers pulled from nowhere then you should have taken the deal.

On the second note a player run economy without boundaries or mechanics works great, go check out eve online. That game has a better run and more stable economy than many nations here on this earth.
Not having an auction house in this game really ruins it guys, get to working.
I know you want to be unique and stuff...but comeon

If only there was some kind of convenient trading forum here on the PoE site that people who disliked the Trade channel could use. Oh wait, there's 6 trading sub-forums...

add auction house

I was against this at first because I disliked the AH in D3. But I'm coming round to idea it could work nicely here if done correctly, and is rather urgently needed. Rather than an AH, just have a board with the asking price, and you can either buy it or not. Or even just the noticeboard would be good, contact the seller directly and his ad is only visible when he's online. Whatever it takes.

I too have been trying to buy a few simple items for decent prices for hours and it just isn't working right now.

P.S. I guess asking for a quality of life change like this marks me as a carebear player again, because obviously wasting 5 hours trying to trade, or getting ripped off by ruthless sellers, is "hardcore", was part of the devs' original vision and/or adds to the grim and dark atmosphere (pick one). lol
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

Even if this takes hours of time and wastes other peoples time?

Ignorant poster who doesn't want discussion and flames thread.

I played Diablo 2 hardcore back in the day, it was retarded. "Path of Exile" is not "Diablo 2"
Almost as stupid as the people asking for WASD movement...

OP, please make a forum search either on this or that once popular other game to maybe realize why this is an insanely bad idea.

In the long run an auction house will ruin the currently perfectly wealthy eco cause it allows farmers to control it to a certain degree.
The current system works perfectly fine. If you want something go to the forums and ask or search for it. Most of the time you won't get what you want instantly, but that's only an issue if you are one of those 24/7 gamers.
