Desync is not a feature, and shouldn't be treated as one. It's completely unacceptable.

Desync will kill this game. It's really the only thing holding back the game to begin a AAA game. It's sad that most of my HC deaths are desync and not hard mobs.

Ive honestly leraned to live with the desync. it is what it is they wont fix it as for now maybe in the future who knows. im more concerned with the balances aka nerfs they keep doing. and the horrific RNG on maps

The issue is GGG's decision to implement mechanics like stun which increases the chances the client and server will be out of sync, and only letting the server determine what happens, not the client.
This results in a game play experience where the information on the screen is incorrect. When you think you've escaped, you didn't. When you think you're hitting (leeching), you didn't. Instead of being challenged with difficulty you can plan for and react to, you are instead are handicapped by false information being displayed by the client. Personally, I rather have correct information. If this means letting the client have more input on the server, I'd happily be for it. We already know the game has bots and cheats, so I see no advantage in the way the server governs the client now. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give moar Power Creep Pls |

I'm not a programmer or anything, but from my understanding desync isn't fixable at this point unless they rewrite their netcode, which isn't really worth it for them.
I agree that desync is one of the, if not the biggest flaw of PoE. But then again I can understand why from a company point of view it's not worth to fix it. That being said I think GGGs decision to allow desync to be in this game was terrible. |
