Naming and shaming in game....
This is such a weird thread...
Society is ALWAYS based on (more accurately: defined by) rules thought up by the members of that society. If you violate them too often, you get excluded from that society. What happens in 820 is only natural and I think it is good. Cut-throat works both ways: If you want no rule against leeching, then you also shouldn't want a rule against warning others of leechers. The 820 community is really fun and helpful. If you don't like what they do, then don't join it. But stop trying to wreck stuff you don't use for others. It's the same as all those people who start threads "I don't play HC/SC, but I think it should...". I wonder what makes such people tick? Besides, Nubatron nailed it: Chat is temporary, forum N+S is permanent. So it makes no sense to apply the same rules. May your maps be bountiful, exile

Still, Judge Samantha has ruled, naming and shaming in 820 is against ToS. Simple as that.

There is nothing in the ToS that prevents players from creating community managed resources outside of the main game and forums that are explicity designed for the "Naming/Shaming" of PoE players.
A simple Facebook page or Blog Spot page would work perfectly for this. If there is major concern that there are people within the 820 thread using and abusing the service, simply take the initiative to set one up. This protects the community from people it percieves as unworhty of interaction, at the same time as complying with the ToS as written and enforced. It is as easy as setting up an automatic message in 820 that writes something like: "Welcome to 820, the Daily Master Missions chat - we are a community organised resource with a number of rules: Leeching is not allowed, yo momma jokes are considered too 90's, and Neckbeards must be worn at all times. Failure to comply with these rules may see your IGN posted to our Rule Breakers webpage - http://www.toomuchtimeonhands.com/PoEPolice" Best of both worlds. Hell, chuck some damn google ads on the page and make yourself and extra couple of bucks a decade while you run it. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. " ok, how am I gullible, if a leecher joins daily rotation party and leaves before his turn, because he didnt have daily available in the first place? Today he scams me, next day he'll scam someone else, etc... He can keep leeching indefinitely. When you are doing master rotations, you'll get to know certain people who share their masters / map encounters every day. I have a lot more trust in the word of those people (when they expose leechers), than I have trust into GGG willingness & ability to deal with scammers. So, ill report a leecher / scammer to GGG and what will happen? Absolutely nothing, since it either cant be proven ("without any doubt") or they dont have the manpower to "do police work". Like much of other functionality in this game, players have to rely on community help.
