To me this sounds strange. IMHO scammers, botters and RMT users should be ridiculed in public and then perma banned. Why is GGG protecting them?
Because the Internet is full of trolls.
I don't think I've put anyone on ignore who was called a leecher on 820, only those I've experienced first-hand.
That said, it's a community-created channel and thus policing it should be left to the community. For better or worse.

You are an exile, this is supposed to be a cutthroat environment, you shouldnt be trying to police anything except ToS violations. Just because you guys in 820 feel like you should be able to name and shame anyone who doesnt play by the same rules that you do does not give you the right to break the ToS, I personally dont care either way, I kind think sanctioned witch hunts of the most obvious RMTers and other such cheaters that includes a hostile or allied function that only allows hostility if both players choose hostile, this could be pretty interesting gameplay but im going off topic now.
The thing is that this should work both ways. If it is okay to lie, scam, cheat and otherwise rip people off because this continent we are exiled to is so "hardcore" then it should likewise be okay to name and shame. Untruthfully/unfairly labelling someone a scammer/leecher/whatever-blackhat-label-you-want-to-use and/or getting them blacklisted is exactly the same as scamming and cheating. A rule against naming and shaming is hypocritical. Either any and all nefarious activity should be allowed or none should be.
If the staff's reason for a rule against naming and shaming is that they don't want to provide the opportunity to blacken someone's name then they should also remove the opportunity to scam people and so forth.

I totally agree with you.
I have been a moderator for about 2 years now in another game and I must admit, I am pretty sonfused. the staff don't want us to share information about who is leeching etc etc then they also should make it a bannable offense.
If what the people do is not an offense then saying they do it is not naming and shaming, is it?
I think something like "excessive naming and shaming" should be punished, however sharing information about who does what should not be. It'd then be up to the moderator to decide what is excessive.

USE
ANOTHER
FORUM!
This entire arguement and possible punishments and TOS breaches is a completley invalid arguement if you just use another venue to N&S players (IE:reddit).

That's a good point. Saying that someone did something, which isn't against the ToS should not be against the rules. I'm sure that one could find a way to name and shame without actually naming and shaming if he has studied the rule properly.

So, I can report people who expose scumbags in global 820, but I cant report scumbags who leech rotations? Or even if I do, nothing will happen, cause exposing scumbags can be proven with chat log, but leeching cant be proven with chat log. haha...

It is physically and mentally impossible for me to agree more with this post. Spot on.

I'm only going to say this a for the last time.
If it's not against the ToS,
you have no clause to complain about it.
If you're gullible enough to get scammed,
it's your fault.
If it's against the ToS,
hold your little witty tongue.

Now that's a proper response. It should work both ways, but the thing isn't to drag others to your level.
Scam and name n' shame? Great.
"QQ, i wan't no scam cuz i cant name and shame" No. "Git gud".
