The average player needs more access to uniques
" this. RMT always affects everyone. It not only leads to a 'shifted' economy, it also floods the network etc. It even can affect your drop chances: imagine if every day ONE exalt would drop, and now let say bots claim 50% of the "population", YOUR chances are halved too. " Not you, but (high probably) the people who offer the RMT stuff. They "need" the most effective way(s) to create their trading base, and (same as every "good" highend player) they try nd aim to bring it to the absolute maximum. They even (can) use "cheap human bots" if its less costly. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

Average? I'm at level 95 rampage and still didn't drop any T1/2 unique. This is the real sad part of this game. While some people already got 2 shavs, mjolners and whatever, there are other people that after 2 years playing didn't feel that joy of "oh shit that *awesome* unique dropped for me!". And I tried MF, non-mf fast clearing, etc. GGG should understand the frustration feeling when you chain high level maps constantly and just see low level uniques that ends at vendor. Unique drops needs to be reworked, low level uniques should drop much less on maps and high tiers drop % should be balanced better. But well, this is nothing new.

need i remind you guys that good uniques are the only item drops in the game that have a wow factor on drop still , due to the linking system making all rares worthless until linked .. if you ever link them.

Salty is correct on this btw, a whole part of the "yeay" factor of drops is gated behind the linking of items.
Even if i find a 6x t1 armor for example, i won't go crazy "yeay" what a drop. (this has happened a few times btw and i cant remember any of them anymore simply because i prolly sold them for a few chaos or vendored) I wouldn't even be joyfull when i drop a shavronnes. When i find a mjollnir or soul taker for example i would, simply because i can link it in a few attempts. This linking system must have been one of the best on-paper things they could have imagined that is biting them in the ass. Not only does it prohibit a lot of good-player-experiences but it also terminates any sense of global balance imaginable prior to implementation. There are two routes to a good rare... drop a rare with good stats and link it, or drop a white with good links and work up it's stats.
Both can be expensive. Both can happen on your first orb. |

^You forgot the third route, which is what makes the other two routes look worse in comparison.
Finding a 6-link rare with good stats. Because this is a reality/possibility however unlikely, anything other then this in comparison is worse. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

If were in charge of designing the fundamental mechanics of PoE 2, I would diversify the item affix pool (such that "best" is not so obvious) and remove randomness entirely from linking, but instead replace it with **cheap** deterministic linking (like, jeweler = +1 socket, fuse = +1 link, and another for -1) balanced by a system that modified mana cost multiplier of support gems per socket, and balanced support gems around tiers of normalized MCM. A systematic redesign to fixing a) poor itemization variety, b) gating skills behind random numbers, and c) the beginnings of a proper and consequential mana management system.
(So vote CanHasPants 2016!) Most everything else about PoE (optimization aside), but with these changes, would basically be the perfect game imo. " This only applies to chests though. |

" With the addition of master crafting (and specially master mods), it's factible they add new mods because players now have more control. They can rework rares yet (making some low level affixes impossible to get, and adding new, more interesting affixes, hybrids would be nice to avoid frustration) About linking, my only complain is that it seems grindy as fuck for those who want it, although it's not like you need a 6L except for the most insane fights in the game. " This is totally correct, but this system is not fair when someone who played 2.5k hours didnt see any of those *wow* uniques drop, and other people report that every league they find several of them. ♠RaGoN♦
