How is GGG going to stop D2JSP and similar scum?

i can't imagine they'd sell orbs

i wouldn't be surprised to see some +quantity/quality enhancers tho. nothing major, but something to appeal to the farmers.

which is fine imo. i have no problem with people who donate gaining a small edge in the amount/quality of drops... just so long as they're not able to quickly buy orbs/gear or have a substantial edge.

jeez.. besides that GGG's business model is offtopic, what part of "we don't sell power in any way, shape or form" don't people understand?

GGG has stated several times that anything that gives gameplay advantages, wich +quantity/quality is, wont be sold. What they are going to offer through the shop is still unknown, but extra stash pages, look of spells/skills etc is definaetly on the list.
D2JSP illegally sells others' property for money. This is illegal. Especially in the case of any subscription-based or microtransaction-based system, this is directly harming the owners of that property, and thus they could be sued for damages.

D2JSP further incentivizes cheating play that frequently attempts to illegally damage the servers of the games they play on.

Don't forget that D2JSP stands for Diablo II JavaScript Player. They are cheaters and they are frequently dupers. Duping involves abusing the server. Intentionally attacking a server to get it to glitch and allow unintended output is a crime, not to mention eligible for civil lawsuits for the damages caused.

No they don't, all they sell is forum gold which people use as a trading currency. Those people might be violating some agreement they made with game providers.

I dislike their origins, I dislike the introduction of real money in game economies but I very much like having a viable trading currency which they provide and their service needs to be funded somehow. Their forum based trading platform is rubbish but remains popular because of the currency.

I have been posting till I am blue in the face about how important a viable trading currency is and how PoE's currency items aren't.

If GGG wants to minimize D2JSP's influence on PoE they need to provide a good trading platform and a viable trading currency and I believe they will. D2 is the game most influenced by D2JSP and it provides neither.

It wouldn't be fine by me. It would be wrong in principle and not going very far down the wrong path doesn't make it a right path. When you get something in return for money it isn't called donating.

I remain concerned about the viability of PoEs planned funding. I would rather see micro charges for things which you are more or less required to do playing the game with a starting float or whatever to remove any barrier to entry and keep it completely free for the most casual players.

I like how some people think some sorta detailed inspection of every infringing account is going to help. It's a free to play game, so expect bot accounts faster than you can hammer them down.

It's a giant hassle, but you could put a capcha in the login screen to at least enforce occasional human input when their stash fills up.

Uhm no, they don't.

However, I agree that their policy regarding botting and hacking is of course questionable, as well as their background starting out as a botting site and the power of one single person (njaguar) that controls the whole d2 economy by controlling all the fg.

sadly its not that easy than u might think. D2JSP don't sell others property. its just a platform. do u have evidence that the owners of D2JSP is duping and cheating? its just some users of that site maybe. u'll need more than just speculation for a lawsuit if u dont want to lose a lot of time and money..
blizzard would have turn this site and others down long time ago if it would be that easy...

The site started out as a premium bot site For D2, although njaguar tries to hide that fact now.

Just as an interesting side note, members of D2JSP already have a bot for Hellgate Global running. Make of that what you will...
