Does CWDT trigger on my own Elemental Reflect with for example CWDT+EC+IC+PM/WM to instantly work against that threat? That would be really pleasant!

Yep! Still, gotta be ready to activate life potions in an emergency. If this was a ranged build, I could play one-handed. Melee makes things a little more dangerous, but also more exciting.

Frost Wall is another good defensive gem that can be linked to CwDT, and Cleave can hit over the wall, at least when you don't use Concentrated Effect (I imagine Reave can too, but I haven't tried). Despite using it here, I'm not a huge fan of IC except when it's self-cast or used at lvl 20 in a life tank build.

Reave looks nicer to me, and has greater AoE for more clearspeed I think. With Multistrike in standard setup you should compensate the 30% less damage too or isn't it that good?

I'm not completely sure what the dps gap would be. Go with Reave if it's more fun for you :)

Ok, thanks for your tips Tempada! :-)
Thanks for the guide., I'll start a new toon soon. I'll level with CoMK + Detonate Dead ^^ setup, can't wait.

Let me know how it goes. I didn't level this character from the start with a Dreamfeather build in mind (I switched into it around level 80 with a free respec after a major patch), so I'm curious to hear how others level.

Not leveling with Cleave atm at lvl 23, but I started out with a 20% cleave and these awesome weapons:

I took the dmg nodes route atm, racing wise, dmg nodes is preferable, and for fun, I took all the movement nodes first,

feels great! this should probably be tens times more fun with facebreaker.

Definitely nice gear to start with. I like the Cast on Melee Kill + Detonate Dead idea.

Will this work with static strike and a shield, how high does the physical dmg on a dreamfeather actually go compared to a regular phys foil or something?

You really need two Dreamfeathers to get decent damage, so using a shield's not an option. This build can be used with a low level Static Strike (low level because there will be mana issues if you level it too far), but the clear speed stinks in comparison to Cleave (Static Strike hits one enemy at a time then spits out mediocre AoE damage while Cleave always does decent AoE damage), and Cleave still gives more damage in general (the gem's damage multiplier and attack speed quality bonus help with that). Lightning Strike would be better than Static Strike, especially if you could fit in some projectile damage nodes.

A nice physical foil will definitely give you more physical damage, but this isn't a physical damage build. This build works by scaling elemental damage through evasion rating (Dreamfeather's ability), gems, aura/elemental nodes, and accessories. Stacking a ton of evasion also gives you the benefits of great attack defenses and crazy movement speed (assuming you use Queen of the Forest).

One reason I scale elemental instead of physical damage is because of mana issues. If you want decent physical damage, you typically need high level gems, and that means higher mana costs and taking mana nodes on the tree. Right now I don't need any mana on the tree, which allows me to take extra evasion or damage nodes. Also, based on my early attempts and what I've seen others attempt with Dreamfeather, elemental damage scales much more favorably than physical damage; I can simply get more damage out of an elemental build.

If you want a physical Dreamfeather build, you could try something like this:

You'll probably need mana on the tree, but that's a solid base. Use Hatred + Grace + Herald of Ash.

Current level 36, gear:

Tree:

Killed Dominus last night, but not with the boots, I think I used this one
. And I also used an chaos res flask for the second form right.
First fight was fun, hit em as much as you can, then run when he's about to one hit you. But this time, you have so much movement speed, so easy to do the usual strategy (actually my first to properly do the dom fight technique).

58% movement speed, 68% if I use that unique evasion chest --- is so good for leveling. This is gotta be the fastest way to level a toon.

Excellent, looking forward to hear how it feels to you in Merciless.

Yeah, movement speed is so often underrated, especially while leveling. I mean, I wouldn't go out of my way to take movement speed nodes, but there are a lot of combo nodes that work so well with this build that you end up with lots of movement speed anyway. Just wait till you get Queen of the Forest going.
