As well as gear-checks this game has gullibility checks. The bandit pvp kill videos on youtube make me laugh so much I snot in me tea.

I really like this mechanic.
It gives PoE some feel of "anarchy" and "fighting for your survival" that especially D2 had and that PoE also really needs to have for that dark harsh feeling. In fact I would with for more features of this kind, this seems like a prototype. |

" Could not agree more. I would love some kind of Cuthroat feature in the temp/perm leagues. Not as harsh though, you would have to have the option of not participating in it, for example if you play solo. |

Having struggled through the vitriole in this thread, I'm ready to levvy another unbiased opinion, state that around 50% of the people in this thread are unbelievable asshats, and also that both sides are in the wrong, albit in different ways.
Here's why: you ready? Hardcore leagues are not the "Be all, End all" of the PoE experience. It's really that simple. To those crying that the mechanic be removed really need to go stuff themselves with their own pity. To those slightly more sensible who say the mechanic needs changing in the hardcore league - you have a slightly more valid argument, but there's a simpler solution. If you suspect contention in a zone - force a new instance when it comes time to do the bandits. Do it yourself. AFAIK, you can do that on your own without leaving the party (ignore this suggestion if you cant - I don't play hardcore often and I don't party publically, ever. It would seem really stupid if you couldn't though...). Frankly I find it a hilarious test of builds in 'softcore' leagues when we all get to butt heads and see who comes out on top - but then we don't rip permenantly. Even in merciless - the 10% xp penalty is pretty wimpy all things considered at that level, and you easily make it back up. To those crying that "oh, just get better scrubs" - seriously, just off yourselves. You're disgraceful. I can't even dignify that argument with an explanation as to just how moronic and invalid it really is. Frankly, the ONLY sensible suggestion in this entire thread I heard (thank god there was one, else I'd have gone batshit crazy) was to put a delay on the "Fight!" after all picks were made. That would allow people who weren't happy with it to portal out home and group another instance. Or just solo. That fixes the "Welp - this guy needs this guy, but we need oak, and he needs alira - and so and so wants the skill point..." and it also solves the "hehehe, lololololololol" problem without any fundamental mechanic change. Saying it need to be ripped out completely really is dumb. Saying it doesn't need to change at all is also quite dumb. I can see how it is an avenue for greifing, and if there is one, people will use it. As such - SOMETHING needs to be done. You don't have to be last to ensure your safety. You can be first and walk out of camp. The fight won't start until everyone has made a decision AND everyone is in the camp. So, before walking back into the camp to start the fight, you can look to see who selected help and who selected kill. If there's no danger, walk into the camp and the fight starts.

" D2 PKing > PoE Bandit quest by a very very very long mile, design and fun wise it's not even comparable how D2 got it. The Bandit quest "PKing" part is a lazy and limited attempt at adding PKing in PoE. Tech guy

I want to be abel to invade hideouts and kill people. Mabey not personaly ones but guild hideouts.
We need a guild war mechanic. Guild declares war then both guilds hideouts become FFA PvP areas. Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
