one of several solutions is to just not choose until everyone has chosen... it tells you everyone's choice. this has never happened to me, because it's entirely avoidable.

I am from old D2 1.09-1.10 where TPPK was rampant, gotta say, this bandit quest reminds me of that time so often.

This method of death is really the worst for 2 reasons:
1) the victims do not get the chance to react as the pker always chooses the selection at the last,
and
2) the pker always has PvP gear whereas the victims tend to have PvE gear on.

The mechanic of this quest does not need to be overhauled, but perhaps 2-3 second timer needs to be added when everyone in the party chooses whether to help or kill.


For OP:

In normal, I always buy Shiversting for 1 alch (in all 4 leagues, this item can be obtained cheaper than 1 alch), then use Heavy Strike + Add Fire gem to hunt down both Kraiten and Alira (I always help Oak in normal) at lvl19.

From lvl15-18 go to Weaver and Chamber of Sin to complete the quests and gain levels, once you hit lvl19, you can pretty much handle both bandit lords easily.

Threads like this almost make me want to play hardcore leagues, just so I can kill people at the bandit quests.

You realize it's obviously new players or players who infrequently play each time. It's inconsistent with everything else in the game and is only harmful. It offers nice flavour in softcore leagues but is simply unfair in hardcore leagues.
