Seriously, this killing party members at bandits has to stop

It's been a part of PoE for as long as I've been playing the game. If the feature wasn't working exactly as GGG intended, it would have been altered by now.

They like it, so it's not going anywhere.

It's completely avoidable by simply doing the quests solo, so just do that.

Once again, after getting to that point in the game and wasting 2 hours of my time, since i don't skip content to progress faster and have no leveling gear, i've been killed at kraityn, yet again.
Wether it's the obviously malicious guy that disguises himself and looks like he is helping the team after progressing through chamber of sins, just to finally kill us off, or the oblivious team that warns no one and picks randomly, just to realise it after we're all dead, this is the most unbalanced thing i have found in this game.
Why would GGG even implement this? Why would they apply a mechanic abusable by players so that they can simply fuck with everyone else with their facebreakers, one-shotting anyone that has the bad luck of crossing them?
For me, there goes my free weekend to dedicate to poe, since this particular event has left such a bad taste in my mouth that the will to play is gone for a while. Personally, all the little faults in this game combined to this particularly nasty one are adding up too much.

End rant

Edit: just to add that it hasn't happened only in normal difficulty, the case is even worse, after dedicating more than a day of playing just to die later in merciless...
Being king in this game is tuff.
Would love to continue this discussion, but unfortunately I'll be off and this thread will most likely fall into the depths of forgotten topics.
Just want to add that ultimately, this is a huge game experience breaker for anyone that suffered from this. So far, these have been my most depressing deaths in this game, and I'm all against a toxic player vs player environment, just like in some MMORPG's where permanent stealth is an issue and if you're caught, too bad you're dead.
It is not a controlled risk if you just love to party with people but don't have in-game friends or a guild. It is something that when it happens and you're the first guy to get caught, then you're definitely dead and there's nothing you can do after the moment that one guy pressed the "help" or "kill" button.
You know you COULD consider actually NOT going into a party for bandits?

If you are having that much trouble with them, then just get better at the game instead of relying on a mechanic that could get you killed easier than the bandits alone will.

Well he's leaving so instead of responding to him I'll just address the morons that will be agreeing with him:

No, it IS a controlled risk. There's a remarkably simple way to avoid such a tragedy!
No, you ARENT screwed the moment someone click Help, because Alt-F4 exists!

I'm sorry you feel that way Rynphos.
I'll admit I've never experienced the problem you talk about since I've only ever done the bandits on my own but I can see how it might leave a bad taste in your mouth.

There are a few options you can take to reduce the chances of this happening again.

I'm far more frustrated in hardcore by my seemingly magical ability to become incompetent around the middle of Act 3 Cruel and die.

Post Script: Kudos on the speed of your progression; it usually takes me more than two hours to get to Kraityn.
