There is actually a difference between a matter of opinion and a critical analysis of a thing.

Not according to the culture of the subjective which has been so very cultivated in the past decade(s).

Not that I agree with such a counterproductive culture, mind you.

Sure, you can go to a museum and see a statue of a female police officer pissing, plastified fecal matter, white paintings, jeweled skulls, etc. But dont expect me to find you the least bit intelligent for "appreciating" them or any value to such besides negative ones, or proving that deceiving fools is forever to be a profitable activity.

Well, I finished the original D3 (not RoS) campaign with a Monk and as I expected there's lots of pros and lots of cons, compared to PoE. In many ways they stand on opposite sides:

* ARPG customizing: PoE is rich and complex (sometimes complicated), D3 is simplified & sometimes outright idiotic (a mage using a 2H axe to boost damage, lol, that's just rape going on in plain sight)

* Looting: PoE is a huge junkyard of everything, where the player needs to comb through truckloads of RNG mess, to find the gold nugged in the dirt. Feels like working in a recycling plant. D3 looting is tailored specifically for you. I like how D3 drops 50x less items, opposed to PoE screen wide clutter of garbage. Two extreme opposites. I dont prefer either.

* Items: PoE wins hands down, thanks to unique items that are really unique (and despite rares being bland). So far it seems that uniques in D3 are just glorified rares (and tailored for the char you currently play). Each class needs his specific stat + vitality, that's more or less it.

* Combat: Best part of D3. All the dumbing down & streamlining lets you focus on an 'impactful' & satisfying combat experience... Combat-wise PoE has been simplified (through tree specialising, CoC, Cwdt...) into spamming 1 or 2 skills. A D3 char will on average use more skills during combat than a PoE char. With physics & no desync, combat is way more fun in D3.

* Difficulty: they are both faceroll games, with PoE having more noob-traps, that come from lack of proper tutorial / documentation (aka "difficulty through obscurity"). I like that D3 doesnt rely on spike damage & oneshoting, yet fights are still dangerous / tough.

----------

Best part of D3, imo: blue packs & rare monsters are meaningful dangerous enemies, that are fun to fight & satisfying to defeat. You encounter them less and fights last longer. In PoE blue packs are just trash you twoshot instead of oneshot. Rares with the exception of <reflect & some nemesis mods> also dont take any thought and you plow through hundreds of them per hour. Even exiles become meaningless fodder, once you are able to dish out enough DPS. (this is a consequence of the looting system, where you need a massive amount of items to drop, to supply the player with all the possible permutations).

So.... D3 = Arcade Action RPG?

Also, I've noticed no desync, lag, FPS drops (all settings on max) or other technical issues. Which means I'm gonna enjoy D3 in HC mode. Something that in PoE is more like a stress test, rather than a game.

Diablo 3 is a arcade game that costs 25 cents per rift, and you'll find them mostly at little kids skating rinks.

Path of Exile is a real aRPG that you need to play at home while getting involved intellectually, and emotionally.

I choose POE.

Getting involved intellectually? Not sure if troll or just being silly.

POE is like most arpgs, you can have mindless fun or plan all day. Also, some of the changes to POE make it less fun than it used to be.

Did you just start playing POE?

Do you know what the word intellectually means? I don't think you do.

The game requires a lot more knowledge of character stats than diablo 3 does. And that in return, comes to the conclusion: The game requires a fair bit of intellectual brain activity to advance and have fun, unlike Diablo 3. (in my opinion).

Sure it might seem like the game doesn't need any thinking if you've played it for several years, but for new people it does require more knowledge and intellect.
