Afterthoughts on completing the 8 challenges

The challenges this league were absolutely insane. We knew going in that if we could get in ahead of time on farming Alluring Abyss we could make a killing - and it paid off big. The final axe I sold (the 4th, which would've been for my own 8/8 if I had decided to get it - sold for just under 500ex. And that was the smallest of the axe sales)

I chose wealth, but congrats to everybody on their 8/8 in this totally insane season.

I found getting 7/8 was far too easy, something I got automatically without caring. Actually one of the last things I did was paua and coral amulet recipes just for the sake of getting 7/8. Getting 8/8 I didn't even consider because the required time investment is pretty ridiculous for such a low reward.

7/8 was like some pile of dirt on your backyard and 8/8 mount everest.

It isn't hard at all. All you needed to do was A)don't play both leagues. B) don't enter every corrupted zone you see while leveling. There's no need for a reward for that.

You walked away with over 2000ex (unless you're splitting with chunda) just from axe sales alone? What a whore.

At the start of the leagues I decided this was the league I would swap to the hardcore challenge leagues. Needless to say it felt pretty bad knowing I had almost no chance at completing 8/8 in Invasion due to the nature of uber atziri.

Would really like to know what GGG were thinking when they made the challenge require such a significant time investment in one league while making it almost impossible for the other to complete it.

Agreed, whore status confirmed. Chundas cut was his 8/8. I get the axe/gloves back on Standard when we're back (the gloves, rather hilariously are loaned to us due to some supply issues at the specific time chunda left for vacation lol) and I'd like to do a build with it as it's a pretty cool item. Either lvl6 empower on a spell or lvl6 enhance on... Something. Dunno yet.

The profit from farming über before the price of hope spiked was.... also substantial, overall. In total, I have no idea what the final pull out of ambush was tbh, it depends on what I end up selling the pile of acuities in my stash for and whether I use all these mjolners and windrippers and shavs or get rid of them for currency. In any case, ambush was totally insane.


As to crafting... I'd be open to doing a dps ring as mentioned in thread. (Exact stats to be worked out - fyndel mentioned that he didn't think ias was worth it on ring but I'm not sure - I'm a big fan of atk speed) Leech isn't needed anymore thanks to acuity. The thing I want to wait on is patch 1.2 though - there may be some changes coming that could shake up what builds are at the top (my forecast: rip pain attunement for attacks as a start, possible gutting of aura stacking on top of the removal of snapshot)

Yea I still have the ring with WED, AS and accuracy saved. I may just sell it to you since it's caused me nothing but headaches from this point on. Probably uesd 50et/ex without hitting a decent 4th T1 roll.
