Would read again but can you please explain why in the love of god anyone would voluntarily do this? I sink an unhealthy amount of time into games including poe but the mere idea of these artificial "challenges" is just beyond me.

I found it interesting that the word 'fun' wasn't expressed anywhere in the original post. Maybe it was all fun, I dunno.

challenges as achievements are too RNG and trading based. I wish there were actual challenges, not trade your way to riches and buy your uniques and orbs for the challenges.
For example a challenge/achievement: Kill Dominus with 6 of the 7 classes in your party. Or have a full party of 6 people during the fight with Atziri with each character being level 80+. |

New 4 month league = level up gear up kill normal atziri kill uber atziri...the first person or group to do this is almost guaranteed a insane amount of wealth and enough money to maintain top 10 ladder by running unlimited maps because of unlimited money.

Good post , seems like u have a good idea on how to somewhat "fix" this.
Personaly i do not have nearly enoughf play time to even think about atempting these chalanges, so i have not really invulved myself in any of the discutions about them. The item list is pretty nuts however i can see a problem with that , especialy with Artiz . Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Good read from an 8/8! While I only managed 6 challenges, I do not want to make them "easier" because the 8/8 isn't for everyone, only the dedicated. I thoroughly enjoyed chasing the 6 challenges and knew any higher were out of my range with the time I could commit. Plus, I don't really want a tshirt, but a huge +1 to the MTX idea. I probably would have went with more of an effort for an MTX. It will be interesting to see what the challenges in the next leagues are: I don't find "have all these items" to be a very fun challenge, but I understand they have it to be the gating challenge so not many people get 8/8.

GGG should also ban cross league trading between challenge leagues as well. There is no point in having a HC ladder and level 90 challenge if you can just farm uber Atziri and then trade the currency to the HC league (thereby having BiS gear that you didn't earn on HC).
You should have to earn your gear and currency on each league. This isn't some HC versus Standard shit, it's just objectively true that it is harder to gain that type of currency on HC. And with the Uber shit, this is vastly more apparent and relevant an issue than ever. Current IGN: TheBearerOfLight
