You'd have my vote (if anyone was allowed to vote under this hypothetical dictatorial regime).

A dictatorship usually is run under the "one man, one vote" system. The dictator is the man and he gets the vote.

What if the dictator is a woman? Who gets the vote?

Wierdness happens. I've done well over 200 corrupted zones. I've gotten 5 midnight fragments. I still haven't gotten a stupid Vaal Molten Shell to drop. We all have items that are unusually rare because there's so many items that could possibly drop. You notice the odd ball ones... not the ones that are behaving normally.

All anecdotal evidence here but since patch, it seems that players are reporting multiple drops of the same item unique at any given time.

I had 2 Volls Protector armors drop from 1 Dom minion *at the same time*. I just saw someone in a map find the Enzomyte Burgonet helm. Within about 2 minutes one of my guild members said the exact same helm dropped from a yellow.

Countless similar "coincidences" happening here & there where identical items are dropping simultaneously throughout the server.

It's as if the game is programmed to drop X # of items at X time - I assume to introduce X item in to the market intentionally. That's not RNG at all :)

We are on to you GGG :)

Anyone can say that what you experienced and heard is "tin foil hat" nonsense and all, but the truth is that GGG uses what is called "gated" RNG. That means that while RNG is in full force all the time on all drops the server side is keeping a count of the total number of a specific unique item to ensure that only a specific number of that item is released into the PoE economy over a specific time. So while each and every drop could get you a unique item in theory the ugly truth is that GGG is highly regulating the drop rates of all high level rares and uniques and thus there is no true RNG at work here. This is not what most PoE players want but what the hell, GGG does many totally bizarre and crazy things (translated as stupid) in PoE to limit the amount of fun and protect "their precious" game economy.

We all know what happens when you obsess over "my precious". How ironic that gated RNG being used to control "their precious" game economy is from a New Zealand company. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

No argument there. But with GGG using "gated" RNG to artificially and carefully control the actual drop rates of high level uniques so as not to get a spate of RNG that causes a specific item to flood the PoE market, we can state that RNG is not free and unregulated RNG in PoE. Game economy is thus being deliberately manipulated by GGG to maintain tight control and dictate to all how much top end gear we get.

The gating you describe has nothing to do with RNG so calling it "gated RNG" is wrong and misleading. It's no different than rolling a pair of dice. The outcome is random number, but the chance of getting a seven is higher than the chance of getting a ten. Doesn't make the roll any less random, just the outcomes have different chances to roll. You wouldn't call getting numbers other than seven as being gated random numbers.

Wow, I almost knocked myself unconscious when facepalming at this post. Good job I guess.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Indeed. The scenario he gives implies that there is some kind of system like the Evasion Entropy that prevents an item from dropping for the next n amount of hours if that item just dropped. That's a much different system than just having a random but low probability for that item to drop.
