RNG is good.
RNG does not add variety, a proper balance of skills, keystones and items does. many mods are just plain bad, they have little use or the mechanics behind them makes them very unreliable, that is why people flock to cookie cutter builds, becouse they know those work or at least dont require uber equipment to work.
to give an exampple, something as simple as an aura gem that deals fire dmg around the char based on light radius say: light radius * 5 as spell/fire dmg around the caster can make light radius mods and aura increase area nodes / quality more appealing RNG is the easy way to extend the life of a game that lacks diversity, in poe case is quite clear that most builds are looking for gear with high HP/ES and ele ress and to a lesser extend armor. if all mods, stats and mechanics like evation, light radius, mana, etc.. where to be more or less equaly viable in the end game then we wont be all looking for the same mods and as a result RNG will no longer be needed as a way to keep diversity. self found league fan

"It's not BS. But yes, I guess so. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Scrotie, I am genuinely curious about what your view is of RMT within PoE. Specifically, is it something that you think is worth fighting to minimise, or are you content with its current impact (or lack thereof) on the game as a whole?

" I think the RMT situation has gotten really bad.I had quit for almost 4 months, and played casually for one more.So lately i leveled myself from 93-94,and the last days i am trying to level from 94-95.90% of the times i play solo,or duo with my cousin, but i died due to desync at 60%,and joined a public to gain back my xp.It seemed like every guy in the late 80's,or the early 90's to have 3-4 mirrored pieces.I could not beleive it.Back when i was playing publics more frequently, rarely a player in the late 80's or early 90's,had maybe 1 mirrored piece,in much less frequent situations 2,and generally it was pretty rare. Edit:And 80% of them was obviously low life spectral throw https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/417287 - Poutsos Flicker Nuke Shadow Last edited by Poutsos#0458 on May 13, 2014, 11:19:54 AM

after 4 month break why would you be surprised that people have improved their gears in a permanent league? People grouping in standard while 4 month leagues and 2 week races and etc are going on are most likely full time standard players. Why woud you be suprised that their gear has gotten better while you were breaking from the game, and what indications did you use to know they had 3-4 mirror pieces in the first place, and why most those pieces have been a result of RMT?
If you have a specific example of somebody's account being a few weeks old, and have proof they are using several pieces of mirrored gear, you should send that info to support email possibly, but otherwise you are making a pretty loaded comment here based on basically no evidence and even faultier logic that full time standard players wont improve their gear substantially in a 4 month window. " 1)It is pretty frequent,i mean literally in most groups i joined 2)Thats why i spesifically mentioned late 80s characters, not mid-high 90s. And yeah 3-4 mirrored pieces, and GG uniques on other spots is always suspicious.Of corse i cannot be sure,i never can but still https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/417287 - Poutsos Flicker Nuke Shadow

" you already posted this, and still havnt discussed how you are seeing their gear or why you would think people would not improve their gear while you were away for 4 months, or why you think it would be abnormal or unreasonable for people to go from 1 piece of mirror worthy gear to 3 or 4 pieces in 4 months. You took a break, not every player in standard league. Hey...is this thing on?

" He's not talking about the same players he mapped 4 months ago, what gear improvement? Your logic: in 1 year, people would be carrying that kind of gear on 70 lvl characters, because they will improve their gear by then. |

" if i have a piece of gear, and make a new character, that new character has a piece of gear. If I play in standard, that gear never goes away, i can use it on all sort of characters, of different levels. So ya, I think it would be expected you might see some level 70 characters running around standard in really really strong gear. Why the hell else would you play standard? The gear isnt character bound lol. I also didnt realize that this player had grouped with every single player in standard before his break, and could reasonably know that the player is new and also that they are in fact wearing mirrored gear. Or maybe it isnt this, and accounts are limited to one standard character ever, and you must make a new account and start from scratch to make a second standard character. Hey...is this thing on?
