Thanks for pointing out the obvious, captain.

I really don't like your attitude btw.

What you said is of course correct, but there are still tons of SC players out there who are way better players than the HC *heroes*.

HC players are just a tad bit more masochistic, that's it. That doesn't make you special, or lifts you above SC players.

Think about it, maybe you'll grasp it some day.

But keep up your stereotyped thinking, it served you so well in RL, as we can all see you can throw around some cash, so you have to be right, who am I to question that?

Now please, back to topic.

And sorry to Pohx for derailing your thread.

Back to business now.

He's right though.

Well, partially maybe.

If there wasn't any penalty involved when dying, like in some other games, one could go crazy and do whatever they want. Then this statement would be true.

In reality, you play SC just like HC and - at least I personally do so - try all you can to not die. The only reason I don't play HC myself is because I'm not a fan of losing my character (or getting booted out of the HC league) because of lag or desync. Oh and I tend to switch to desktop in places I shouldn't.

Still, I don't see why all SC players should be labeled as carebears, easy mode casuals, etc.

So all I'm saying is, it is not a viable tactic to not care about dying. And that seems to be a common misunderstanding of the wannabe HC roxxors (i.e. the DBs coming into threads and trying to use it as an argument - I don't blame them, I'm surprised they are even remotely able to build a whole sentence :P).

But back to topic now, this awesome build deserves better than getting derailed entirely.

Yeah ok. So let's get technical then. No not every build works in softcore. Because some builds wont make it to 100. In softcore you can have a /played of 543 hours on a character with 0 deaths, or 1, or 50. In hardcore you can't. Inherently this means that the game judges your effectiveness by how often you die. There are a couple reasons why the highest level players in the game are on hardcore. One might be that it's probably really boring to be stuck on level 85 because you keep dying. At least you die on hardcore the game becomes interesting again if you try something different. Another reason is that some builds just don't work at all for hardcore.

Key point here so pay attention:

Every build can beat the game farm maps and get lvl 100 in softcore. You just have to not die...a lot.
Every build can beat the game farm maps and get lvl 100 in hardcore. You just have to NEVER die.

See the difference?

Technically this doesn't make Hardcore higher in difficulty level. But technically it makes hardcore much more difficult to play.

That's a pretty cut and dry explination.

To the OP: really awsome idea. I'd have to try it in scrubcore, testcore, failcore...whatever you want to call it.

this guy makes me sad for the gaming community. simply, even a "bad/normal" player can get to 100 in hardcore if they play the game slow enough.

there is a reason why the #1 no life (kripp) never talks shit about softcore, cuz its not right. people on his stream do, and unfortunately i wont b watching him anymore due to that only fact, but i hope kripp continues his streak of awesomeness. i play sc and hc and enjoy them both, why not? but to hear someone say this type of shit just proves how dumb people r. the game is there to have fun and if people feel not dieing and playing the game to b in the top 10 ladder is "fun" then so b it, if people feel throwin up molten shell and jumpin into a pack to watch everything go BOOM is fun then so b it as well.

lastly, watch out for the up and coming streamers (pohx/devmoon). some r gonna take over the world with their ideas!!!!!11!!1 1one!! !11

p.s.did i mention ur a diamond and prolly have a HUGE head about urself? im sure GGG appreciates ur donation but the gaming community sure as hell doesnt give a shit about u if ur gonna insult more then half the population of this game. care or not ur wrong entirely, geegee pocket warrior.

p.s.s. this build is just too much fun <3 pohx! keep em coming boi!

But, we killed Merveil at level 1.
So why even have a build?
Thank you for posting this guide.
I really love when you showed which point to allocate at what level.

I agree with the above statement Pohx, appreciate the builds you're putting out rather regularly. The stream is also great!
Bloody Beginners question, since I'm still learning the basics of this game:
What about Energy Shield?
On paper ES sounds predestined for this build to absorb the beating needed to break Molten Shell? Must be a good reason you left it out tho.
First I want to thank you for making this guide. A few things could be explained a bit more detailed. Especially the description of actual gameplay is kinda lacking, but as you said it's only a quick guide.

One thing I would like to ask you is where that 50%+ Block Chance is coming from, since in the video your character info lists only 15% Block Chance. You also seem to be intentionally skipping most of the block chance nodes in the passives tree.

I only started with open beta so go easy if I overlooked something obvious. Enjoying your steam btw.

Maybe you looked at something else? He does take block % nodes, he takes the Bulwark 8% and the 7% leading to 30% resist in the templar area. Also take 7% in the marauder area. That's 22%, 24% on the shield, 4% on tempest shield. That's 50%. Might get a shield with more block % too.

I tried to only take the flat $ Block nodes, as the others give a % Off the base which isn't too high. Also sheilds have a built in 22%-30% Block chance ( Not sure on exact numbers ) and you can even roll a +% to block chance on them, so when it's all added up you easily have over 50% Block chance.

Thanks for the feedback on me needing to go more in depth. At the moment i've been pumping out guides for people who want to get into the game right away and try them. After I get most of them out i'll go back to the ones like these and fine tweak them. Once again Thanks for your feedback!
