Will be female. Since its 3 male and 2 female as of today.

I would like to know this too. I for one wish they would have made gender selection a option in character creation.

i'm quite sure it won't be possible to choose character's gender

I think they said that you couldnt change genders sometime around when the witch was released.

Every class can use any item. The only thing that might prevent you from using some item are it's:

1. LVL requirement and / or
2. attribute / stats requirements

That said, Templar will still profit the most from STR / INT items, since those are his main attributes. But, there's nothing to really prevent you from playing it using let's say 2 one hand swords and dual-wielding skills, except the fact it might not be as powerful as blunt weapon + shield, or 2 hand blunt weapon only.

Much of it depends on your own gameplay style, and on item modifiers - 2 one hand swords can end up with so good modifiers in total that even if they are of much lower LVL than your character, they'll outperform higher LVL blunt weapon.

Awesome! They definitely aren't afraid to use some blood in this one.
