reinstall game from the web. but the problem is icant access my id. because the steam id and normal id is different. im quitting if i cant use my old id. lvl 79 now. too long to play new one~~
Just to clarify, the accounts here don't officially have a steam store page? Russian and Asian players mostly?
And the problem occurred last night after a steam update?

The problem is, as far as i know Steam have it in their ToS that bypassing Steams region lock is against their ToS and may get you banned so any official action by steam is unlikely and GGG can't do anything atm as they abide by their rules.

The simple solution for the moment is to DL the game from the site and get the account unlinked from steam until the game is localized for the regions it's currently locked in.

Yes, that is exactly what happened. Steam got updated with some patch. And after that, Path of Exile was gone from my library. I tried looking for it and dling it again by searching in the store, but when I click on the game it says game is unavailable in your region. And yes I am playing from Asia. I used to stay in Australia and moved back here. So the region probably doesnt match up.

I found this solution that worked for me. I never uninstalled the original PoE client. So what I did was, I copied the content.ggpk from steamapps folder to the original client folder. I run the original client and it worked. On the login page it only asked me to enter my password again and thats it. I can still use my old ID.

Valve made Path of Exile freely accessible to all Steam users during the holiday sale as part of their Snow Globes Event. That's why there are some players asking why it has been suddenly region-locked. They did not bypass anything.

I don't know if this is possible or not, but considering that it is an unintentional snafu, maybe GGG can allow the Asian and Russian players who accessed POE during the sale to keep their game in Steam as a one-time exception and goodwill gesture. Some have, after all, put in hundreds of hours into the game.

Have problem.I use Steam from Russia.Help.Attach my account on e-mail.

This isn't a GGG/PoE issue. It's an issue with Steam. PoE is locked on Steam for those regions (for various reasons). You're free to play the Classic (website) version, so it's clearly NOT a GGG issue. If it were, they would restrict you from playing via that version as well. It's something specific to Steam and the region lock.

Take it up with Steam.

Edit: if you need help getting your Steam account linked to a Classic account, you can do so by emailing GGG support at the address in the Contact Support page and tell them you want to link your Steam account to a Classic account. Provide them a VALID email address to attach the account to as well as your Steam account information and a list of characters on the account (name, class, and level if possible). That will make the transition easier.
