How does one transition from 5link to 6link?
" Do you end up breaking even that way? |

Yah, I thought it that way too.
After buying and spending 100 Jewells to get 6 Sockets I tried to 6link this beast. After over 300 Fusings I ran out of Currency and Moral ... Month later I bought a 6 link Sword for 8 Ex. and used it to grind. So Finally I felt like having a good basis to Craft my very own 6 link. I found a Vaal GreatSword. Spend a couple of Chaos to get a good roll and spend 300 Jewells to get 6 Sockets. pffff Than I start fusing it, after 450 Fusings I got that: :( Sometimes crafting is a pain in the ASS! I would appreciate a counter which raise the chance to get a 6 link after every 50 Fuses or so. This way its so frustrating ... I bet many people quit playing after such experiences, like a friend af mine did. |

Crafting from a white worked just fine in Standard, but I'm probably approaching 1,000 jewelers so far and no six-socket, let alone six links on my current project. I think I might just give up on that until I am completely satisfied with every other piece of gear I have.

Every single advice in all the PoE forums for obtaining items people want is to buy them.
If everyone is buying then there are no items to sell, because noone grinds for them everyone just waits and buy. And also there are not enough such items in the markets to fill the need, there is always more people wanting the item then there are items and the richer get those. Then you advise me to get richer, ok I do, then the other person would be in my position asking for help, you advise him to get richer, he does and I'm back in the same situation. And there goes the loop. So this advise actually does not help. Also if you're buying it form someone it means that the other person somehow got it in the first place. There has to be a starting point from where all the GG and Legendary 6links come from. Is there a guide how to get to that point? My original account Dushan is banned. " I've actually acquired a 6 link 4 different ways this league(after never having one previously). I'll list them here: - Found my 1st 6 link from a "unity" ambush box. Was an axe so wasn't too good. - Bought a pretty good 6 link for 5 exas(100 life, 600 eva, double res). Thanks to unity boxes, the prices of 6 links are quite low in ambush. - Got a corrupted 6 link by corrupting a strongbox that dropped 10+ items. This is probably the best way to get a 6 link but it will rarely have good stats/sockets. - Crafted my own 6 link using armor scraps and fuses. Took only 150 fuses and 500+ armor scraps. half the problem is our entitled attitude and mentality that 6 links should be obtainable by everybody/everybody should have one type of thing.
they are supposed to be rare, they are supposed to be hard to achieve. if everybody had one, nobody would care...it becomes the new standard and then what? nothing - you quit because there isn't anything left to achieve. keep it as hard as it is to get a 6link, it should be this hard. afterall its a gamble anyway where you could get it within 100 fusings or it could take 1000. they made it slightly easier to get a 5link, which is our current standard for 2h and chest items. if your build REQUIRES a 6link then you're doing it wrong. never plan a build that requires something you don't have and cannot get. biggest thing, which is the main focus of this game, ADAPT. adapt to only being able to use a 5link like many others need to. eventually you'll get a 6link, this is what keeps you playing the game. Random.
i was maded about 6-7 six linked. My best was 6l without any 5l after 200 fuse and my worst - 6l after about 14 x 5 ls and about 1500 fuse. |

step 1: Hoard 3-5 exalted orbs and 10 or so orbs of fusing.
step 2: Buy high ilvl item to craft or a unique you want to use. step 3: Hold a lottery "5 Link my chest, win 3-5ex. Linking after every fuse" Step 4: If you get a 5L destroy that with one of your own orbs of fusing, link the item. Repeat step 3. Step 5: Once you get a 6L, pay the 3-5ex you promised and act like you're oh so happy that a 6L came before a 5L. Step 5: Enjoy your cheap 6L. It's a win-win for everyone, the noobs think they earned 3-5ex for what's usually worth 1-2ex and you effectively crafted a 6L for 3-5ex + change. The best part? GGG doesn't consider this as scamming, because I see it being done every day. Alternative way, if you don't feel like abusing gullible people: Step 1: buy a high ilvl item or unique you want to use Step 2: 6S it Step 3: spend orbs of fusing until you get a 5L or a 6L. Step 4: If you got a 5L, otherwise ignore this step and go to Step 5, sell the 5L for 1ex if white and 4ex+ depending on what unique. Go to step 1. Step 5: Enjoy your 6L. |
