How does one transition from 5link to 6link?

We all know there's quite a huge gap between 5link items and 6links. My friends and I have never obtained one, and we'd like to know how.

Can you more experienced players discuss your strategies for making the gear level leap from 5link to 6link?

Get 1000 fusings worth in exalts, host a 6-link lottery offering those exalts as payout...done.

Buy a BoR and fuck the 6L. Or buy a Tabula and run purity of elements until you can afford something better.

Scam lottery. Or spend the next year farming for currency, and then buy it.

But seriously, I'd like to see a change - fusings should not break existing links, this would allow you to craft on your 5L til your get a 6L without ever breaking it. Higher chance with every fusing used would be nice too.

steps to get from 5l - 6l.

step 1 use 5l to grind bosses for the chaos orb recipe.

step 2 amass roughly 1200 alterations , 100 fusings and 200 chaos orbs by what ever means possible.

step 3 use that currency to convert to exalted orbs , or find a seller who doesnt mind not having pure exalted.


step 4 buy an extremely cheap mid range 6l (preferable a white armor)
(not a highlevel base armor, something in the level 55 - 62 range goes for cheap)
it will probably cost you 6 - 8 exalted.


step 5 use the 400 chaos orbs you just saved by buying a cheap 6l to roll something like this

sell said item for profit.

buy what you really want with your new found cash.


optional step 8 viciously berate idiots who actually use fusing orbs to craft shit.

The only problem with "higher chance per fusing" is that it creates some issues. Would it be tracked across players and in trades? If so, can you see it on the item somehow, X fuses used? Does the way item data is stored even allow something like this to be tracked?

Best way is for you to save up your currency and search around for a 6L and buy it with said currency. Might take a bit depending on what you want, but you won't have to gamble and flush so many Fusing Orbs down the toilet to the point you feel like you're wasting your time.

Save up a ton of fuse (like 1.5k+) and just go for it if it's a good rare that isn't easy to find. If it's a unique, buy it I guess. But I've made all my own 6Ls with amount of fuse needed ranging from 50 to 1.4k.

Yeah, but would actually be crafting and GGG seems to be strictly against that.
