RMT (This isn't Feedback about gameplay or balance)

Personally I think the best way to combat RMT is to do a sting operation. GGG would set up multiple RMT sites and after they receive payment and that RMTer comes to collect, have them get caught and ban them.

This works doubly well considering GGG would still be getting cash from the people they ban. A lot of it.

just go to jsp and compare account names - just that. from there you can start a 'sting' operation removing 50%+ of top50 in all ladders (ofc there might be fake accounts created to demean others blah blah blah..)

poe section on jsp is one of the most active - for a reason. this game currently is rmt'ers heaven. and ggg does PITIFULLY little to change that impression - introducing legacy uniques tells everything

the point is: without rmt, the item you want to buy would cost half as much. that's why it affects everyone.

this is wherein the main problem lies , you want to BUY the item.
when there aren't rmt'ers who pay double the price, i'd get it for half the price.
Rank 1 player in Anarchy had tons of trade threads on d2jsp and GGG did nothing, apparently he was a big donor.

part of the issue is there is no visibility when GGG does mass ban waves against rmt site accounts and rmt users.

if it wasnt for the guy on dom, i dont think anyone would even know GGG is actually banning anyone.

Honestly, time would be better spent combating why players want to RMT, instead of just trying to shut down all the players that do. It's a healthier solution.

making the game easier only raises the bar for what players would rmt. if everyone has an advantage, no one has an advantage.

there will always be players from every point of progression that will inevitably use rmt and those same players must be harshly and swiftly dealt with though I would say the highest ranked players with excessive rmt would be a better target than the random individual who did it once or twice.

But look, D3 players say RMT isn't a bad thing!
