Really?? This is a problem....

Here's the only solutions that I like right now.

1) You can no longer trade orbs and MUST use them for crafting

2) Self Found League

Anything other than that will probably do basically nothing. Trading is simply better than playing the game.

I grind, have 10 ex in stash. Have used over 10 in equivalent currency on maps. And the maps I've ran would be worth probably close to 100 by now.

There's really nothing that surprising about it.

Is that you traded for part of those exalted orbs not relevant in this thread also?

If currency drops were increased enough, more people would just craft their own gear, completely circumventing the middle man who snaps up every fair priced item and resells it for 3-4 times the profit.

Yeah, that is a fix.. Nothing the trade trolls could do to stop it.

Incorrect. It will always be cheaper to trade.

Correct. Since the discussion is about you must trade and not grind to get wealth. I just hit lvl 90. So obviously you can grind and see that kind of wealth

Care to elaborate? Why is this a problem?

Because with current drop rates, the only way to obtain 50 exalts in less than 5 years of play for a very lucky player is to trade and not grind.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is a method out there to reward people who grind more than they trade, because trading intrinsically tends to maximize economic efficiency.

Lets not forget that in all honest getting that many with trading is some mean feet maybe there is another option that people are utilising.

Its only money. May as well spend it here.

convince me to go out and have fun with the game.

wtf.... Why the hell are you playing in the first place if you're not having fun? You can't have fun just for the sake of it? [Removed by Admin]

Haha. Great how you just cut of my sentence, rip it out of context and proceed to draw far-fetched ludicrous conclusions.

I'm actually turning 28 next month. And if you would actually read the rest of my comment, you would see that I was merely pointing out that progressing my current character, mainly his gear, would require me to spent months and months of hardcore playing at this rate.

I'm having fun (mainly with alts and new builds), I was merely pointing out that it's a bit of a shame that end-game farming is pretty pointless unless you get a one in a million drop. Progressing is also part of the fun in a game for me, something which I'm willing to spend some time on even if it's boring. But farming hours on end just for the small chance of getting a drop which might allow me to get a gear upgrade isn't worth it.

Trading will always be more effective than grinding. That is why people trade. If you increase the drop rate of currency, prices will just go up. If you increase the drop rate of items, prices will just go down. At the end of the day it is impossible to make self found cheaper than trading.

How does one player out farm the potential of hundreds of thousands of players? Without hacking at least... Crafting really is a dead feature in PoE for the most part you use it while leveling to fill in some piece of gear that is really outdated but you don't feel to spend a couple chaos for an upgrade at that moment.

You'd spend far more exalted and eternal orbs trying to craft a perfect weapon than you would just paying someone that already found one.

I don't think GGG wants crafting to be on par with trading given that they have not addressed it by now.
