Really?? This is a problem....

It's not PoE or D3... it's the players. It's not drop rates... it's players and how they feel that they alone should have good drop rates.
People get rich exploiting the needs of these players, just like in real life. Changing drop rates wouldn't change anything, the players would just adjust their notions as to what was valued to match it. Don't blame it on D3. Don't blame it on PoE. This is purely a reflection of the modern player having unrealistic expectations and the players trading with them for a profit collecting the rewards for doing so. |

Well, there's only three ways you can get that many exalts in that short of a time. None of them involve playing the game.

" Speaking in riddles doesn't really help anyone. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

People's wealth, whether is in-game, or in real life, is almost directly proportional to the amount of time, energy, knowledge, and experience they put in it.
If you are playing 2-3 hours a week, don't expect to have the same gear as someone who plays 12 hours a day. It's that simple. This occurs in any game, online or offline. " This is exactly the problem. Something they changed in GW2 and WoW, rewarding the players for actually playing the game. It's not a matter of perception, no matter how many hollow platitudes you throw at it (not you, but SHagsbeard). Any of my proposed changes would alleviate the situation, and I didn't even think it through that much. So I'm sure there are plenty of other ideas to go around and plenty of ways the devs could actually balance the economy. In GW2 I made so much money by not playing the game, just playing the trading post (auction house there) at the start of the game. At some point they changed it and it became actually possible to progress and profit by playing the game. Not near as profitable as playing the auction house, but close enough to convince me to go out and have fun with the game. |

" The problem is the guy flipping items for 2-3 hours has 10x the wealth of the guy playing for 12 hours. Should we all stop playing and just flip items? |

I'm having trouble getting funds for a Mon'tregul's Grasp + Midnight Bargain. And that's a total of 10-15 exalts only.
My best drop so far has been a near GG belt and a Divine Orb. Even so, I'm not complaining. I don't play enough to warrant these expensive weapons. IGN: Caessa_Undying - 4 FPS Immersive Rain 4 Lyfe!

" WONDERFUL solution youve got here, id say its right up there with your reading comprehension :) I think more rings and necks would be a great idea, if they dropped proportionally to other base types it would allow for more reliable currency farming. Including recipes for all currency would give the economy absolutes, which would be awful. If currency drop rates are increased I will simple charge 50 ex for something instead of 25, nothing is solved :) Making the absolute best uniques drop more (which, theoretically, would balance out the economy) would make it far to easy for people to obtain them and everyone would have the exact same gear and builds "just for try, for see and for know"
