Currency? 2 chaos orbs and some alteration orbs and stuff, nothing worth 1 chaos together. I bought a ES shield and a medium physical damage claw (and they are still crap) and that's it, can't afford anything else.

No one who's existence matters truly cares if you play with guide-based build or not. What a pathetic thing to base an argument off of.

That being said:

You're richer than you think, most people just don't realize it. It's pretty much impossible to have a 60+ character with no currency worthy of trading up for a chaos. If you don't have even one single stack of alteration orbs, you're literally not even picking stuff up.

I have orbs. But I tried to get gear for it for several hours (5+) in the trade channel but everybody wanted chaos, not alteration orbs or fusings or anything else.
5 hours literally, 5 hours of looking at the trade channel while running slowly with my main char for xp. I don't call that ARPG, I call that trade gaming and it's boring as fuck.

I need a 5 linked armor with stats - chaos orbs? Without exalts you get nothing.
Carcass Jack 5 linked? 4 exalts at least.
Bringer of the Rain? 10+? 20+? I don't need BoR but every other helm is so bad compared to BoR that not having one makes my build (and most melee builds) so bad it's not fun anymore.
Bringer of the Rain saves you the armor chest (no massive amount of exalteds for 5l or 6l needed) and gives you a 7 linked helmet, damage, safety, saves you currency, perfect.
Good rings?
Better boots?
Better gloves?
Good % physical damage belt? Or ES belt? Couldn't buy nothing
Better physical damage dps claw? Not on the market, I bought the best one, 177 dps, 2,2k dps with Reave, Double Strike build would give me 10k dps or so with same gear ........... and 10k dps is fucking low, even 20k dps is low but acceptable. I wouldn't call anything below end game viable, especially in parties.

SFL won't work, you'll just have everyone stuck at the same level range as they currently are, only now that 1% won't be able to break through.

Problem isn't the traders, is how loot is dropped, how crafting is implemented, and how the gear checks work.

Wouldn't matter if a few hundred players ran the market if I could progress and clear content making my own stuff or finding it. Only those who want a shortcut would use them.
