My computer started crashing only while playing POE

I really hope someone from GGG will look into this - didn't happen in beta and now after 1.00 things start crashing.

Looks like updating (actually clean install) to this version solved problem for me, 4h without reboot. If anything changes will post here.

I have experienced both the black screen and the frozen screen where I just have to power off. Sometimes just PoE crashes sometimes my entire computer.

I have the same problem. Screen freezes, the audio goes slow motion and i can't do anything except turn the power off.

Tried --swa, --nosound, no use. reinstalled POE, reinstalled drivers, defragged, no avail.

Also using a nvidia/realtek combination.

I've started having the same problem a few days ago. If i'm not mistaking it started happening after the last patch.

I had this problem in the past after the game got released on steam. I've tried everything back then, updated drivers, monitored temperatures, reinstalled the game ( even on a completely different hard drive ), ran the packcheck tool. Eventually i dropped it for a while, came back and the problem was gone.

A few days ago it started doing it again, at fist after a few hours of playing, but kept getting worse, to a point where i can't even play half a map and it crashes, I even had it crash right after double clicking the shortcut, didn't even get to the loading screen.

I'm running a dual screen setup on a Nvidia 580 GTX, i7 2600k oc'd to 4.2 Turbo speed, 16gb of ram, 1050W OCZ PSU. The game is also installed on a Corsair Force GT SSD which also has Windows and all my other programs ( POE is the ONLY game installed on the SSD ).

What it does is basically screens going black ( no more signal going into both my monitors ), sound gets a bit weird for a few seconds and stops. I also seem to get disconnected as every time it happened in a party my friends were saying i was just standing there not using any skills and eventually dc'd without dying. What's weird is my machine never crashes , i can still hear my friends on skype and they can still hear me.
After i eventually restart it boots normally and the event viewer only shows an unexpected restart, no driver crash, no read errors no nothing.

My temperatures are well within reason, gpu goes up to 68 in the most demanding scenarios and cpu doesn't go past 55-60.

When i had this issue before all other games were perfectly fine, will give it a try again tonight though. I'm also going to test with a different video card and see what it does.

PLEASE GGG look into this , there seems to be quite a few people having similar issues, and i really don't want to spend a lot of money on a new GPU just to find out it's your game that was causing the issue all this time.

same thing happens to me and i built my computer myself with hi tech hardware ive played demanding games and nothing goes wrong, today i started playing POE and it kept freezing causing black screens and screech noise, GPU temp goes to about 44-58 thats nothing for a AMD RADEON HD 6700. I was really hopping to experience poe for the first time but it seems like a cheap game with cheap bugs not impressed at all.

Yeah I also have the same problem. It happens randomly. I'll be playing for 30 minutes and it will happen or even 3 hours and it happens. I am really tired of this. I enjoy playing this game but as of now it's just too much to deal with. I spent about 2 hours repairing my hard drive because I have been shutting my computer off because of this black screen problem. I had to do several disk checks in the last 2 days or so.

It's the only game that does this black screen thing as well. It does not happen at all for any other game I play. L4d2, Boarder lands 2, Diablo 3, Day of Defeat source and CS:GO...

I too have been having this problem like many others. This started happening after 1.0 and it's frustrating to say the least. It never did this in open beta and i've played it hours at a time. Now its minutes. I tried playing it the other day and I got a whopping 2-3mins of game time. I've tried all solutions but to no avail.

GGG you need to look into this ASAP as this is a major issue. Myself and other people cannot play at all.

Same problem here too. Not hard reboots, but the game freezes and crashes out. Usually happens when fighting through zones, relatively quickly (within 15 minutes of starting to play). Haven't changed anything, other games are still fine, started happening after the last patch as well.

Did not think to post before, since I don't play much (waiting for new hardcore league). But this would be a real bummer if it doesn't get fixed soon!

Please fix GGG!

I have an inkling it might be due to driver issues, since thats about the only reason win7 hardlocks. Could one of you adventurous souls try installing a fresh copy of it and only install the manufacturer drivers and POE, see if that clears up the problem.

Im not guaranteeing itll fix a damn thing mind you, but with a baseline it certainly becomes easier to track down. POE has long had issues with certain sound cards.
