This is understandable because drops can suck ass in the game and the expense in terms of time/reward isn't for everyone. The way it scales in end-game doesn't really help. It boils down to difficulty (a vague term, to say the least), which trading invariably influences. So, what if I wanted to play in a SFL but that has roughly the same drops as currently (even lower for certain things) but adjusted end-game accessibility, no shared stash (and limited/no stash), no permanent allocation yet still supporting partying (albeit restricted)? That's still some form of SFL right, but it's not quite the same as the one you'd want, or the OP describes. What exactly do people want, I generally struggle to relate, is it just instanced crazy drop fests without trading, or at the least rebalanced to account for no trading? |

with buff to drop rate: D-/F I've softened a little bit in my previous stance, if I was GGG I'd introduce a single self-found league: it would be called Season-Long Solo. It would be technically an Event, and give reward points, Demigod's, all that; like most races, it would be Hardcore. At the end of each race season, just like with all completed races, the Season-Long Solo would be moved to Hardcore, and dead characters would go to Standard. I guess if you want to get really technical, SFLs already exist; every Solo race is one. In terms of drop rates, that's a shitty solution to self-found issues, but the problem remains... in all leagues. Self-found should be fixed globally, by making adjustments to the entire game, not by segregating it. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. E) I would only do self-found if crafting was redesigned to not feature such prevalent RNG, and currency drops were frequent enough that I could modify my gear more easily. It's ridiculous that the reason I have to resort to trading is because I can't craft my own stuff.

F) Forum polls suck for various reasons.
The horse is beaten to death and, as a developer, I would take detailed self-found feedback over a ridiculous small community poll a million times. I however play self-found most the time and enjoy myself doing so on a rather casual rate. |
