B) - Vote! ie: I am STRONGLY in favor of SFL, wouldn't mind having it put if the price /delay is reasonable; ie: Can wait for perfect content/fix any bugs/rework dev.

BUT with buffs life/es and increase drop rate: items, uniques, gems, orbs/currency, DROP RATE FOR MAPS, etc. (not slightly, but a lot); increase 6S/6l linking/socketing; increase max passive skill points (not 120, but 180-220); increase exp gain for gems; increase iir/iiq from rare/unique mobs; reduced mana reserve for all aura; slightly increased all support gems.

That's when it will make sense in the new league (Self Found League - SFL).

For all the posters that state that you can play self-found now in any existing league, STOP focusing solely on the elimination of trading. Yes, Self-Found will eliminate trading but the main reason we want the SFL is not just because we don't want to be playing the commodity market but that we are desperately desiring that GGG create a league that increases crafting orb drops in a major way, 20% to 30% more so that we can craft our own gear. Crafting is an essential part of the whole of an arpg and without a significant quantity of crafting orbs we can't do very much crafting. Therefore the SFL will (if GGG makes it the way we want) eliminate trading for the larger desire to acquire crafting orbs significantly faster and thus craft our own gear.

Please take your blinders off and stop focusing exclusively on playing PoE solo. All solo players are doing it now. But we are extremely unhappy with the drop rate of the crafting orbs and the SFL would be a way to re-ignite oir passion for playing PoE solo style. The flame is diminishing rapidly and will be extinguished soon if GGG just sits on its laurels and does nothing to promote the crafting part of PoE. The solo players (myself included) will become disenfranchised with PoE and quit playing in the near future (maybe when we see what Blizzard has in RoS). GGG needs to wake up and stop being indifferent to all of us wanting to do our own crafting.

edit: Blizzard missed the boat too on item crafting (or much more likely the D3 devs were forced into minimizing crafting by the execs and their overriding nature of making money first and then maybe we'll let the devs include a few elements of arpg fun) and it's severely hurt the Diablo franchise. Their attempt to regain player confidence in their ability to make a great arpg by placing trading at the bottom of the D3 game priority list of RoS features may be too little too late but at least you have to give them credit that they are working hard to get back on the right track. Time will tell which arpg philosophy is the best but doing nothing to improve crafting in PoE will most certainly cause GGG to lose players and revenue.

Let's say you want to 5L your newly droped awesome astral plate, as a self found player. What does that mean ?
a) farming for those orbs and yellows to get alts all the evening, convert these alts to jewelers than fusings, get those 20 fusings for a few hours played, try to roll your 5L, repeat the next day, maybe the day after, etc. or
b) have more fusings, alts, jewelers and rares droping, get a lot of them and 5L your item in no time, just as if you had trade one of your exalt for fusings, but at least it's "self found"


I don't want either a) or b). I want an experience where I can play with the anticipation that I might be able to find or craft items on my own. Right now, as things are, it will take years for me to do that with any single character. The leagues last four months. Traders get well developed characters during the course of those four months. I just want a self found player to lag behind them in a somewhat reasonable fashion. I definitely don't want what you describe as b).

There is a middle ground. Make crafting feasible. Make it so that when you get an orb, actually using it is a decent option. Right now players are universally advised not to waste their orbs as they level, and then to trade them for items rather than trying to craft with them. All I want is to be able to craft with the stuff I found. In your example, following a), it would take me nearly forever to fuse a 5L. I'm level 65. I do vendor my loot, and I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 fusings right now. If I need to farm hundreds for one item, we are talking about more than the four months just to get the fusings done. Forget about the alching (have about 12 of those so far) or using chaos or exalts.

A. POE really needs this league.

I really love the idea, especically the orb drop rates.
I think it wouldnt hurt to craft your own gear if u get exalts/eternals at a somewhat reasonable rate.
But i guess u must change much more than just the drop rates of orbs. Imo u must change the Legendary drop rate so u can also make builds possible that use a BoR for example, and its not like u find/chance one.

I problem i see is, that ppl will only play builds that dont require gear, like ST, and i cant imagine that mist of the ppl would be amazed to be forced playing such builds.

I don't really care either way for a self-found league. You can play self-found now and just not take part in trading or anything of the like, it's really not necessary to trade at all.

As for increasing the drop-rate for specifically self-found.. That would be nice and I can appreciate that, it's never enjoyable playing a whole day/week (or longer!) not even finding a chaos (or any items of value).

That's such a stupid and non-responsive retort. The reality is that the drop rates in POE suck INTENTIONALLY to maintain a global economy. Which means for someone playing normal self found they pretty much find nothing all in the interest of maintaining an economy, which is ironic as one of initial hooks for POE was that it was supposed to be currency free.
