The ''CREATE a SKILLGem'' Thread!!!! (Bumped for New incoming spell frenzy. ideas inside)

This is not really a new idea by any means, but I really, really wish there was Whirlwind available at some point of the game. I guess Whirling Blades is the closest, but it moves too fast and doesn't hit multiple times like it did in D2.

Support Gem :

Burst/Explode on Impact -

When linked to fireball it would causes the fireball to explode on impact, dealing x amount of total fire dmg to all nearby enemies. For each level up the gem will increase damage.
Area of Effect would be a cool support gem to link this with, to have a huge area of effect.

Orb -

Slow moving object, that will cast curses/arrows whatever its linked with. Think of it as an indestructible totem moving around, but with low damage to compensate.


Intelligence Gem :

Fire/Lightning/Frost Orb -

Slow moving object, that hits any nearby enemy with elemental damage based on which type of orb gem is being used. Able to hit the same target multiple times, could be an interesting mechanic to have. Fire and forget aoe with different mechanics depending on what we choose to support it with.
(Very similar to the support gem just an offensive version of it)

Makeshift Animation: Summons a Golem with attached skills and supports, benefits from minion nodes and player stats attributed to the attached skills/spells. Only one Golem can be active at a time. Drawback - Reserves x% mana while active.[Created by Vtality & Powerhunger]

support gems:

Shatter: 20% single target melee damage is dealt to nearby enemies

frighten: enemies hit with the supported melee attack deal 15% less damage to you

also i'd like to suggest making infernal blow a support gem

always wanted to play mage or just character that would use gravity based spells, and in PoE we got chaos dmg so :

chaos spells :

Gravity pool : medium size area aoe deals 10 chaos dmg per sec, slowing by 50% , duration 5 sec
with some support gem could be changed to make enemy levitate in place when spell end after hitting ground deal medium to high dmg

Black Hole : summons orb that sucks anything close to him, deals 10 chaos dmg per sec, duration 3 sec
with support gem could be changed to explode when spell ends

Gravity Blow : single target , deals medium-high chaos dmg, debuffs enemy with slow for 1-2 sec

Shouldn't this thread be moved to suggestion or are mods fine with it being here?

Here is the official description of the skill:
"Scorched Earth: Carpets the nearby earth in flames, damaging enemies while Doom gains bonus HP regen and increased movement speed."
I mean you got an aoe of fire and the movement and damage part. Not to mention the names are the same.

Not sure where I heard this from, but pretty sure I heard the developer talk about having minions being able to take advantage of skill gems.

That would be the best either have minion ability skill gems or have the current one apply to minions. An perfect example would be Summon Skeleton, would become archers if attached to Lightning Arrow. If attached to Fireball they would become Skeleton Wizard, this could create some interesting combos.
