Is co-op too easy?
I think if you paid attention to this last race you would all stop arguing.
Group play is the way to gain more xp. Is it easier? Yes. If 2 people lift something is it easier to lift? Yes. Can you still die in group play? Yes. Check the race. Can you solo everything in the game? Yes. I don't see the need for an argument here. If you want to play solo, play solo. Its hard but if you have a reckless playstyle then you will probably die. If you have a more reserved playstyle then playing in a group would probably be more fun. They are both equally effective as even if you are playing solo you need to trade for gear anyway. |

" All of this. ^ I finished 15th in the race, 99% solo. I don't expect or want a group of players to have a harder time then me. It simply wouldn't make sense. If you some how don't think groups having an easier time is fair, then have fun in the solo races. |

No one is auguring if Co-op is easier, we are debating the best way to increase the challenge without creating frustration.
Your lifting analogy does not fit. In real life if you are loading a box of 100 oranges into your car you end up with 100 oranges. If you have 5 friends help you still end up with 100 oranges. The way that the games works now is that it is easier to lift the box plus you gain extra oranges and get stronger when you have more help. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" Please see the title of the thread. Again, if you paid attention to the race you would realize that this was not the case. A: Many people died in parties. B: Many parties did not get as many maps as others. It was not a consistent "more lifters bears more oranges situation". If you are talking about group play outside of races....I don't really understand the need for a change. You are essentially working towards an elongated successful ladder season, but you are choosing not to participate in races. Why would you want to make the difficulty of the system harder in a barely if not non-competitive that might drive you away from playing? Last edited by Lachis#4916 on Dec 31, 2012, 2:53:00 PM

Please read the contents of this tread. Posters agree that co-op is significantly easier than solo.
Making co-op more of a challenge will make the game more fun. Being able to breeze thru content and kill the unique bosses with little risk is kind of boring. If players feel challenged in both Co-op and solo they will be more likely to play the game. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

They are challenged?
I've been trying to tell you the race shows you this much. Ok minor tweaks can be made so that GGG doesn't settle. But it is challenging. Roll harder maps. Get a higher level and do higher level maps. Act 3 isn't even out yet. More maps coming. Go group pvp. |

" That's a shitty analogy. Not everyone can lift 100 oranges, but everyone can probably lift 20 (about 2 bags or so?). Getting 5 friends means you can now lift the box. Same thing applies to groups. |

More to the point, where did the oranges come from? Are they in wooden boxes or those plastic punnets? Are you sure there is exactly 100 oranges per box? Are you sure they are definitely oranges and not just nectarines or clementines? Why is there no word that rhymes with orange?...splorange? Is that a word? I think we can all agree this analogy leaves a lot of important questions unanswered.

imo
People play co-op because : - they cant pass some part of map / boss - some people have friends and would like to play with them :) so... if you make co-op harder or scaling way to much (like D3) most of ppl will not like to play co-op you need a challenge ? go play hardcore make 100lvl (and lets w8 for Rage-Post CHAMPION DEAD WTF !!!) Europe-Poland :D

" yep a bad analogy to point out a bad analogy is still a bad analogy. I'll use your analogy because it points out the group balance issue perfectly. One person lifting 100 oranges is a challenge that not everyone can accomplish. If you bring in 5 friends and each only has to lift 20 oranges then everyone can do this with little effort. GGG included a group difficulty buff because they recognized the additive nature of player damage and multiplicative nature of buffs. My point is that player damage has out passed the monster difficulty buff to the point that Brutis is trivial for a 6 person group. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client
