The Socially Awkward Gamer, the Unspoken Problems with PoE.

If you actually read a few posts above I already stated. I guess I'll do it again.
Diablo 3: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/blizztracker/
League of Legends: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/devtracker.php?g=Riot
So if you actually go through the posts there's actually interaction between developer and player and not just, Hey this is what we are doing or OOPs we messed up and this is how we are fixing it.
Edit: Now I guess I'll call you out. Link me to any thread where a Developer has a real interaction with a player about the game that's not bug related. Something that's not an announcement or news.

dude that shit happens all the time. I am at work and don't have time to find links atm but just look through the announcement threads you'll see chris answering questions very often, as well as other devs. Have you not seen things like the dev manifesto were it goes into great detail plainly and truthfully explaining choices they have made regarding things like desync? you'd never get anything like that from those guys you linked just pr nonsense that doesnt explain anything. I have seen devs answer many questions in every forum, I have seen them shoot the shit with us in off topic. not just some hired PR bot repeating what they have been told to say like those places you listed. you don't have a leg to stand on here man. your just wrong and its undeniable at this point as I am not the only one to provide evidence. you seem to be a quantity of quality guy. IF pr speak is all it takes to make you happy communication wise I am sure a place like the D3 forums will appear better to you but for those of us who like substance in our conversations with devs PoE wins hands down.

I will admit that it has died down a bit since the forums got taken over by monkeys like you and other crybabies who dont deserve direct communication since they cant form coherent thoughts but your wrong here its obvious to everyone but you.

Also... Chris actually *apologizes* at times for the choices he makes. how many developers do that?

just saying.

The difference between PoE and your beloved LoL is that GGG is not going to hold your hand and walk you through it. Enter the realm and find your own way if you want to be a part of it.

Who cares if they implement shit before it's perfectly tested, if they are able to produce a better game faster by unleashing content for a while and let us help them discover what is needed.

PoE is a game for people who can actually think independently and like to be creative with their characters to overcome hard content that is very hard until you begin to master creating all-around strong characters, at which points a lot weird things become viable that you thought sucked balls. If you just want to copy the next mans build you will end up becomming bored of PoE pretty damn quickly.

I play this game for at least two primary reasons, to theorycraft interesting characters and to grind some loot hack n slash style. If you don't like a game like that PoE probably isn't the ideal game for you.

And GGG are not the masters of communication skills, but their heart is in the right place and i care more about the quality of their work than them holding my hand.

Bullshit.

You think players would have less to complain about if they had more details to work with?

You think this player base is satisfied with a simple explanation irrespective of their opinions of it?

You think this player base hasn't ever gone apeshit before when more detail was provided about a critical change (and by critical, I mean really critical like CI, not a gem that's been in the game for a few weeks).

WWWWOOOSHHH all you want, you're a dumbass.

While I don't believe for a second all of the player base would have been satisfied with a simple explanation, I do think a lot of the more level headed players who were still irked would have found it comforting and helped prevent the snowballing that happened.

As proof I offer the Aura nerf/buff whatever you want to call it. There was less crying about that then about CoDT. I think a big problem is that they didn't say what they were doing until patch notes, and then patch drops 12 hours later. Had people had a little more time to adjust to it, I think it would have gone a bit more smoothly. Again, I don't think it would have stopped the forum from exploding, but I think it would have been a much smaller explosion.

You need them to explain everything in granular detail? Dude, put your big boy pants on and figure it out for yourself. Not everything requires 100% hand holding coddling.

You would have them explain the change beyond what was written, then further explain how it's still a viable gem for x y & z, oh and while we're at it GGG could explain how those using the gem are still very good gamers.

Jesus Christ, it's a damn violin sonata around here.

Did you even read any of the posts in this thread? My word... Some people...
GGG communicates nowhere near as well as Riot.

True, we have Chris talks perhaps once a day, but more often or not it is casual talk, or update information

In LoL the Rioters often engage players DIRECTLY ABOUT GAME DECISIONS. Only yesterday one of the champion design staff made a thread asking for feedback about Urgot (whos been sucking for a while)

In contrast GGG communicates through Chris as a mouthpiece purely to make 1 sided conversation. When was the last time Mark had a meaningful conversation with us about skill gems? When was the last time any GGG staff talked to us that wasn't Chris or a GGG moderator/support?

double post, ignore
