About to stop playing PoE - maps drop rates are very disappointing
I was a little surprised the first time I made it to the end game content and I literally never had to farm for maps and don't even remember trading for any. I had seen some threads complaining about running out of maps but it never happened to me so I can't really complain. I also raise the quantity mod as high as possible which helps and use quantity gems.

" Probably, We shared on occasion but you definitely weren't my map supplier lol. I was trying to make the toughest most rewarding maps possible that we could run together but we hardly ever got around to it ;) Standard Forever

I was aiming for ironic ;) Point was (going to be), find a friend to run maps with, split loot accordingly. I ran maps ~50% solo, ~50% partied with you. Between us splitting loot and trading maps, we never ran out of content to play. Never stopped being fun until we both lost the impetus to play CB.
I'd still like map drops to be more exclusive, contingent upon non-drop-dependent content to be added, but for now maps are definitely (imo) best run with a friend. Devolving Wilds

" Well good news for you is eventually I will have a non summoner character that won't bog down the screen with minions :) Standard Forever

Can someone explain to me the justification for making maps random drops in the first place? In my opinion access to content (end-game or not) should not be based on RNG.

It makes higher lvl map drops special and feel rewarding.

" There's a pretty significant difference between finding a bunch of level 60-62 maps and finding a bunch of 65+ maps. I think that's the major concern. When you run out of upper level maps, you have to grind lower level maps to hopefully find more upper level maps to find more upper level maps - eventually you're going to run out of the floor you're standing on and fall down, which people don't like - backwards progression.
