Episode 3 is about pure power. Submit a build that trivialises our hardest content. We're looking for characters that dominate high-level Maps and use interesting combos to do so.


Yeah goodluck with that, I'll be surprised if anyone participates in these anymore, especially with such obvious bait like this.
Man-mode facebreaker

IGN: Lurker_Breaker_Of_Faces

The build uses infernal blow with melee splash for huge AoE. It has 40k DPS with a 5L and can kill piety in 5-6 seconds. White mobs get killed in one hit and watching them explode is very satisfying.

The character is very tanky, with over 5k life and 6 endurance charges and uses molten shell and decoy totem for an extra boost but this character was built with DPS in mind (hence the man-mode in the title). It uses a quiver with physical damage instead of a shield and an abyssus helm which significantly increases damage taken, as opposed to a bringer of rain or rare helm which a lot of other builds prefer.

The auras used are hatred and purity. Hatred is for extra damage and purity is needed to cap the resists because this build uses pretty specific gear that doesn't leave room for too many resists.

Edit: facebreakers were already nerfed. You wouldn't do it twice, would you?

The state of the game is somewhat depressing at the moment. Chris, please consider the kind of mindset you are imbuing into players "If your build is widely used regardless if it is actually overpowered, it will be nerfed to the ground"

Well my flicker nuke!extremely fast paced and fun.Can deal with 99% of the content,but requires to play well,and amazing clear speed.Still,risky gameplay,and too much desync to get nerfed :D

We're happy for builds to be overpowered and awesome. We're not happy for people to be able to proc full effectiveness defensive spells four times per second with no mana cost. Based on our testing, the changes in 1.0.1 help curb the abuse case while keeping the CwDT gem at a decent power level. We will definitely keep looking at data and feedback so that we can make further changes to it as needed.

Edit: Let's try to keep this thread about the build submissions. There are other appropriate places to discuss the balance changes. Thanks!

Reave/Flicker Crit Dagger Capped Block Ranger

I leveled this fresh on Domination, got lucky with some drops but it's achievable with lower gear levels too.

Auras: Hatred - Tempest Shield - Reduced Mana - Temporal Chains

For PvP I use Double Strike instead of Reave and a Viper Strike on Empower.
With the changed to CwDT I'll use one self cast Enduring Cry and one on CwDT, drop Molten Shell and self cast curses.

For PvE I Whirling around, then Flicker into a pack and smash them down with Reave.

Character is Oos on Domination.
Have played up to 77 maps no problem, can take on the hard bosses using Saffels Frame. Can also do any map mod, same may require slight gem/gear changes though.

I farm with IIR Gem and a different necklace, so if you use the build then my high map dps set up is what's listed above. Thanks, gl.

so that shadow used multitrap firetrap
chris didn't point out any existing bugs or planned changes about skill interactions the way he usually does, so does that mean that firetrap ground fire being unaffected by the multitrap damage malus is intended?

Most of the weird quirks with degeneration are fixed in the big 1.0.2 degeneration update. It should allow more specialisation in this type of damage.
