What do you wish you would have been told when you first started playing? (SPOILERS)

I'd have to say vendor recipes as well.

But the most important point is: read the forums! Particularly the stickies in "Beta General" as most of the important gameplay info is available there.

Sooooooo. explain why you are able to raise zombies from skeleton bodies.
It's the same reason why you can resurrect a dead dog and get a human zombie. It would be too time consuming and expensive to create a different zombie for every single mob type out there. We could have had Raise Skeleton as a spell, or Raise Undead and get a zombie or skeleton based on the source material. But either way, you can summon something from a whole body, but summoning half a zombie would be pointless. Cool, but pointless.

My beloved pets....
Wish they would have told me how much time I would be putting into this game and forum lol.
Very excited about this game, and love the support and care GGG are putting into it! Was disappointed with Diablo 3, and Torchlight 2 didn't really grip me. This game feels dark, deep, difficult, and complex. Really looking forward to the open beta.

First noob question - how can you plan out your builds, when you don't know what skill gems will happen to drop? For example, I'd like to start a necromancer character, but I don't actually know if any of the raise skeleton/zombie/(one other that I forget) gems will drop at any point. Am I missing anything? Thanks!

FriarJon has linked a few lists at the top of your page. The link you're looking for is this one. It shows you which gems are rewards on which quest for every class.

The top three for me would of been:

- Take a balance of defensive and offensive passive talents whilst creating your first few characters. It can save a lot of frustration whilst learning the game.

- You can Portal Scroll back to town to fully replenish your flasks.

- You can reset the instance of a zone by holding ctrl whilst clicking on the entrance.
Divination Card - Emperor's Luck.
